Hey!
My son is being Inducted at the Naval Academy July 1, but my profile choices did not list that option. I am from North Georgia. I am trying to learn how to be a good Navy mom. Any wisdom you can share would be deeply appreciated!

sassygirl, welcome and if you reach out to your recruiter in about a week, often they will have an address for you. Once your recruit goes thru processing they are assigned a division and it's entered into the computer which the recruiters have access his information while he is in boot camp. It did take 9 long days to get our son's address.

thank you. it will be much better to have him closer to home ( it will only be a 6hr45min drive compared to a 13hr drive to IL.) lol . i was just wondering abt the liberty because i knew that there were phases and what not i just was not sure abt the timing because i am in college so i dont want my schedule to conflict like it did with his graduation from basic.

I live in West Ga. My son left for boot camp 1 week ago today. How can I connect with other moms? When do I get his address. How long before I found out when graduation is. Where can we stay? How many people can go? Full of questions!!! :)

Hi Melanie,
Welcome to the group! Will you be going to the PIR in GL? I hope one of our members here can tell you more about his A school but typically at most A school commands they have phases that they complete. The first one allows them the right to wear civilian clothes during their off time and the last phase allows them to have overnight liberty on the weekends but I don't know his command and how long it may take to complete the phases. How long will he be in GL before they send hime to Florida. I bet you are anxious to have him closer to home.

Hey ladies, hope everyone is great.

If you are going to share emails, please do it via private message instead of posting it on line and then only the intended receipents will receive it.

Our sailor was able to call home on Father's Day, it was a quick but thoughtful call. It was 2:45 am there - just long enough to say he was just getting off work and heading to bed.

Rumor has it there may be a gathering in July near the Mall of GA area - will keep you posted once we know more.
