I am so sorry to hear about the Rockdale County Policeman that was shot, one of our sons and also his wife were both on the Rockdale County Force, but our son left that type of work, but our daughter in-law is still police in Madison, GA. It is a dangerous job. no one realizes how dangerous it really is. My oldest childs father was a police in the city of Atlanta back in the early 60's, actually retired from there years later, but in 1963 when I daughter was only 5 months old,, he was shot serving a warrant too. He was shot twice one in the head and one in the arm. He was critical for weeks, but he did make it. It was only a miracle. Could not remove the bullet for long time. For the pay there is no way that I would be a police officer. We will keep this officer in our prayers. My grand-daughter that is in the navy, said she got frocked Friday meorning, She became a Petty officer. She received some other special awards and they allowed to to come home for the weekend. She got in late last night and was having to go back in the morning. Her little almost 3 year old was ticked to see her. Her brother celebrated his 18th birthday and we all went out to eat.. Had a great time. Got lots of pictures I will be posting on my facebook. If you want to follow me, my two navy grandchildren and my one US Coast Guard Grandson, just be my friend on face book.. It is Arlene Robinson Murrell my email address is arlenemurrell@att.net. Would love to have you join me. Life is good to me... Thankful for this 70 year old grandmother is live and well.

Please say a little prayer for the Rockdale County Officer shot and killed trying to serve a warrant this afternoon. This happened about two miles from my house. So, so sad.

OMG Wade142 ---- I have not seen the local news yet today but I'm looking for details now. That poor girl's family. I'm still stunned by the news out of VA about the two college students that were due to graduate - he killed his girlfriend and has admitted it now. Are these young folks under so much pressure or is it something else...so young for these tradegies.

Welcome to our newest members!
Shirley - what part of GA are you in? I remember when we first moved here too, I was in awe of how beautiful the state was. Wait till you experience fall here - it's fabulous!

J.P. Mom ----- I just seen you in AECF group :-) I think I've met Susan when we had lunch in Savannah. A number of the moms drove over from Florida, is her son an ET as well? I think he is with the fleet now but I believe our sons were in A school at GL about the same time.

It appears that I will be making a quick trip down to Statesboro to pack our daughter up - she has found someone to lease her house for the summer but that gal has to move in on Friday so....packing I will go!
