Just had to share...I'm gonna be a grandma!!

Our daughter who got married in March to her solider...is pg. Baby is due in December and he is due back from Iraq sometime this summer. She is two semesters away from graduating from college so it's a little earlier than we had hoped for but they are happy so we are too.

Also, Navycat - just saw your post with a mention of my oldest daughter at KSU. I forwarded your (FEB 21) post that she can stop by Student Life.

:-) Made me feel like there is one more eyeball looking out for her! Thanks

Hi ladies....S. GA mom here (12 miles from Florida). I haven't been on GA moms since Feb. when my son PIR'd (2/19). Immediately after DRIVING back to GA he talked me into taking his things to him at his SC A-school....to say the least I was behind at work by the time I got back from all that roaming around.

Anyway, have gotten through the worst part of the catch-up phase and hectic IEP season (SpEd teacher)....and have found time to read all the back posts.

You ladies are just as active and precious as my Dec bootcamp group was. I just so enjoyed "visiting" with you while I was catching up on posts.

Congrats to those with births and marriages.

Wade, am keeping you in my prayers. Do you have any additional updates? My SIL was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer, took radiation and is fine (10 years later). Please keep me posted.

My heart becomes heavy when I read your remarks today, for our sailors are so brave and I love them all very much. My prayers are with them everyday, actually it seems my mind cannot focus on other things for thinking of them. We must not forget and we must continually pray for them. I am proud of your sailors just as I am proud of mine. My grandchildren, 2 sailors and 1 coast guard, how proud I am of them. My Coast Guard sailor, Christopher has been home for 1 1/2 weeks and will be leaving in the morning for Alameno, Ca. The Coast Guard Island. Each time they leave, I just have to turn them over to God, and hope and pray that God will allow this 70 year old grandmother see them again. My heart is heavy this morning and I have so much i need to do. God bless you moms, grandmoms and others that have your precious ones serving our country. What would we do without them?

Wanda - you must have heard me thinking of you last night! Thinking I needed to stop by your page and see how you are. Thanks for the update on Josh, my Seabee nephew just finished his field training and will be joining him soon. It is so nice that you get to hear from him that often - it has to bring some peace of mind. Hugs to you girl.

Too bad girls, would love to see you both but perhaps some of our other moms can make it that day and I'm hoping to learn more about the GA Chapter. They are planning on moving the meeting each month to a different site so I will keep you posted on what I find out.
