My son is currently in bootcamp. His PIR is June 4. I wanted to send him some recent articles about the NFL draft and the Georgia Bulldog's. A co-worker of my husband said that these are not allowed in bootcamp, but I actually got the idea from another member on the forum. Can someone please clarify if I can send these articles?

Just realized...two years ago today, we were sitting in GL waiting for those doors to roll open. My how things change in just a couple of years.

Hope everyone is well on this beautiful GA day.

Hi all --- TGIF and the weather is great!

Wondering if you would like to support a recruit a boot camp? Heard from one of his shipmates that this recruit is not getting any mail. I cannot post his name and address here but if you send me a PM I would be happy to share that information with you. He PIRs on May 21st so we have a couple of weeks to send him some Navy momma love.

Here is some info on the young man...

I'm 19 years old. I'm from Lafayette, OR, which is like an hour from Portland. I'm a really outgoing charismatic guy. I'm a performance junkie, can't get enough of the limelight... lol. I have a little brother back home with Down-syndrome and autism, he's my life! He makes the darkest moments of life just a little bit brighter. Before I decided to join the Navy I was accepted to a musical theatre school in New York, but I couldn't pay for it so I decided to follow in my fathers footsteps and join the Navy. I have no regrets, life is what it is. I am contracted to be an intelligence specialist. I'm pretty stoked! It's a life starter! Anyways... that's pretty much me!

Oh dear Wade 142, as if you didn't have enough stress in your life! Lets' add another two weeks wait it and ohhhhh throw in a stress test too! Yep, you might have reason to be stressed.

Do you have a new grandchild this morning?

Wade142 - thinking of you this morning, praying for positive and quick news.

Arlene - what a wonderful birthday you had! May I extended our wishes to you as well on your 70th

Watching the emotions of my adult children...sailor son happy as a clam, has a new girlfriend that attends the University of HI and he finished his cranking detail so he can now do his "real" job and our daughter who is on maximum stress level as she goes into her final weeks of this semester with research papers due, projects committed for and a new hubby in Iraq.

Emotions can change from day to day --------- hoping that TODAY is a good day for all of our GA families.

wade142 I will have you in my prayers tomorrow as you do the things you have to do in regards to medical test etc. Remember God is a healing God and we will be praying that things will be good, if not, then we will pray that God will direct the doctors in the treatment plan etc.

My heart is sad this morning as I had learned yesterday afternoon of the plane crash in our great State of Georgia. Have not heard what happened but I know it is was in the deep of the mountains. Now to a lighter note. Yesterday was this grandmothers 70th birthday, On Sunday my husband surprised me with a huge birthday dinner where close to 100 people came out to help celebrate. I heard from my sailor in San Diego Sunday, and then last night I heard from my sailor that is assigned to the James E Williams fighter ship. They have been at sea but they were docked and she called to wish me a happy 70th birthday. That made by day. Did not hear from my Coast Guard Grandson but he will be home this weekend... Can't wait to see him. I love them all so much. I have 17 grandchildren and I love them all. My heart is always with the ones that are away for I continually pray a shield of protection around them, then I have to trust God to handle it and take care of them.. God is Good. I pray a shield of protection around all our soldiers... God has protected our troops for many years and we have won all our battles, so I have faith that He will continue to protect. Can't understand it when we lose a soldier or someone dear to us but we have to just put our trust completely in him for He is the one in control. God bless you all this morning....and lets remember the families of our sailors that lost their lives serving our country yesterday... God Grant them Peace in their Hearts..

Hello to all you wonderful GA Moms! I read through the recent few day's postings and came away with this thought. We are so much more alike than different. We worry about our children in the Navy, we deal with family at home, we angst over our own health issues. Together we share our concerns and our prayers and then continue on with living and taking care of our families. Bravo to all. Thank you to all!
