Hi moms and a big welcome to our new members! Been out of town so it may take me a few days to catch up but wanted to stop in and say hi.

Florence, you will do a beautiful job at the interview.

If you guys can meet earlier, of course go ahead - I'll catch you the next go around.

Betsy - I think it means lover of horses. I never could figure out how that fits with his personality. :-) I just always liked the name, and it is also a Biblical name. Do you have any additional info on the meaning of the name?

I'd be interested in a meet n greet, but for me it would need to be in the Spring. Between Christmas, and expenses and time taken off for the trip to Great Lakes, I won't have time or money until March or April. :-)

Welcome RicksWife!!!

Betsy - I'm thinking of purchasing the Blue Jacket Manual too. I want to know it all!!! :-)

My son's PIR is 2/19.

Yes, the spring like weather (I'm south GA) has been wonderful!!

Hello ladies! I'm new to your group. Alli suggested I join you all. My husband left for GL 01/05/09. I have yet to hear from him but I am not so patiently waiting. We have a PIR date of 02/26 then he should be off to Pensacola for A school. We are alittle late in life to be starting this journey but with God's graces and a little help from our friends and loved ones I know we will make it through. My father is retired Navy, he was a "lifer" 25 years. So for me this is more of a return home.
I look forward to talking with you all and hopefully meeting with you. I will keep you all in my prayers as I hope you will keep us in yours!

Good morning ladies, I heard we might hit 50 degrees today ...woohoo!

Just wanted to stop in and say that my prayers are going out to Haiti and to all of our troops heading their to provide assistance. I know some of you have sailors that will be involved in this effort.

Okay --- heading out for some real sunshine and no internet connect...stay safe!

Hi Angel, Welcome!! My son is at GL right now, he is week 2 or 3.....he has been gone since Dec 15, so I have lost count as his division was held for an extra week during processing

Welcome Angel - glad you found us! What side of town do you live on?

I was hoping we could plan a gathering for January but...Steve and I are slipping away for a little R and R in the caribbean. So perhaps a February gathering? I'll be MIA for a couple of weeks but thinking of you ladies!

Thank you Margie, wishing your family the best this year. We don't get to see you often enough!

Yes dale, where they go AFTER A school makes boot camp and A school inviting sometimes. Not that he will be sent anywheres bad but if he reports to a ship - communications can be limited as they are so very busy when they initially report.

Dani -- I am sorry to hear about that issue, this is the first I've heard of it. I hope that you won't leave us but sailor's security must be #1.

Welcome to our newest members! Donna Mc --- if your son could send you a photo from GL...you would shiver just at the site of it!
