Many of you may remember from last year - Go to the link below and you can send a card too. Xerox is mailing them. You pick the card you want to send and they mail them! It doesn't get any better than that!!

Good morning all, we usually will do lunch on Saturdays in hopes that most folks won't have to miss work and can join us. We'll get a plan together and hopefully it will work for many.

I think we need some sunshine -- it's gloomy here.

Alli, do you have a GPS? I'd be happy to loan you one. You will find it very valuable in avoiding the many toll roads and construction around GL. Let me know if you need one and perhaps we can meet somewhere.

Gonemad...9 is great, I have a total of 4 in our group for Nick's ship and one of those is a dear friend who's son is stationed on a different ship - she just hangs out to keep me company!

Just thinking out loud here...lunch in January anyone? I know December is a busy month with the holidays rolling in and so many of you will have your sailors home for the holidays (jealous)!!! Leaning towards January 11th or 18th so everyone has a chance to enjoy their sailors or...cry with the rest of us that won't have our sailors this year :-0

I seen the Wasp when I was in Norfolk in April...it's a BIG boat! Is there a group on here yet for the Wasp families?

Alli, I know how restless you must be but it will be worth every minute! Are you driving up or flying? What a beautiful Friday it will be for you!

Oh Alli - what happy news!!! We will be smiling with you this week!

Welcome Robin! Any friend of Irene's is a friend to all! I am afraid that I've missed many new members recently so a belayed welcome to all!

Ok gonemad........what ship?!!! There are so many in Norfolk!

Kim --------- you won't notice the crowds at Disney, only your son! Busch Gardens does free entry for military members and I think they are allowed a guest with them free as well.

Thank each of you for your support and well wishes. Nick reported back to his ship yesterday and I'm trying to stay busy this week getting ready for our daughter to come home for Thanksgiving break.

BJ- I hear what you are saying about your son We were stationed in Japan when my hubby's grandfather passed away and when he finally got news of the funeral it was too late to even try to attend. He really struggled with it as he was so close to his grandfather - only grandson. Nick made the decision to come and I'm thankful that his ship supported his wishes. PS...My hubby was a Navy instructor for alot of years - great duty and really opens the doors in the civilian world too if Mike should even decide to go that way.

Hope everyone is well and your sailors are doing great. We are back from Michigan after the passing of my father and there are no words to describe how much I miss my dad. I was a total daddy's girl but we had a military service for him - he was a WW2 vet and they brought in the Honor Guard and over twenty veterans for the service. They did three volleys and played the taps - it was a beautiful service that my dad would have been pleased to see.

The bright spot of the week was --- upon notification via Red Cross, our Nick was able to fly into Detroit for the services. So he was in his dress blues as was his cousin who is a Seabee. They were in boot camp at the same time and it was cool to see them together in uniform.

Nick is home with us now but will be flying back to Hawaii on Sunday. Want to thank so many of you for your thoughts and prayers. I hope to catch up with you soon.
