Hey Marsha - good to see you! Refresh my mind where your son is stationed - that has alot to do with what to put in a care package! Is he on a ship? Homeported in the USA or ?>?? Is he in school? Is he in sandbox?

Our son has been sitting in school for the past 1.5 years what I send him is generally silly stuff so he knows we are thinking of him or his favorite noodles that he cannot find at his small base.

Thanks all, he has worked really hard in his schools.

Sure looks like a cold, ugly rainy day here...my lifeguard daughter is saying...YES!!! I think she is ready for a break from the heat and the pools.

Hey Missy,
If you are in town, we will be having a gathering on Saturday, Aug 22nd. in Marietta. Hope you can join us, go to events for Aug 22nd for all the details.

I love San Antonio and usually will stay right on the riverwalk BUT I have no clue where the base is from there. Does he get liberty that weekend Missy?

Mary H. we are excited and trying to think thru details like cell phone, Power of Attorney, Passports, etc. as we suspect our son will not be home for a long while after this leave. Japan was on top of his wish list (Nick was born there) but...it was not an option. He did get first pick in his class so Hawaii was a choice for him. I'm jealous.

Good morning all!
Depending on what county you are on, this might be the last week of summer vacation. We are in Cobb County and they start on Aug. 10th but I know Cherokee starts on Aug. 3rd. There goes traffic!!!

After a 1.5 years of school, our son will be graduating from C school on Friday and will be returning home that night for a nice, long leave before reporting to his first ship in...Hawaii. Somehow we planned a family vacation right! We will be going to Hilton Head in August and will actually have both of our kids with us...it will be our last "family" vacation for a long time.

Goodness Carole, maybe she has even waited on me! We eat at Chilis everytime I go visit! Ashleigh is studying marketing and public relations. She is a GA Southern Ambassador and is pretty active at the school. I have her photo on my page - you can ask Meghan if she knows her.

We will do another gathering down there ---- but one on this side of town first!
August 22nd..............be there!!!

I love that photo too! How special!

Carole, our daughter is in the boro too. Do your girls go to school at GA Southern? Our daughter is a junior at GA Southern this year and lives in the Planter Row area if you are familiar with it. We did have a gathering in March in Savannah so I came down and spent a couple of day with her and got to meet a bunch of great moms from middle GA and a handful from Jacksonville as well. Maybe we can plan another one in the fall.
