Peri, you have the right attitude - the box just means that he is one step closer to PIR!!! The box comes via Fex-Ex now and it showed up just a few days after Nick left but the address took...9 days to get! Even the recruiter didn't have it - the processing just took longer last February when Nick went in. If you don't have his address by Monday - I'd call his recruiter and see if it is in the system.

Wanda - get yourself better girl, we are looking forward to meeting you! I'm sneezing my head off this morning but I think it is my dreaded allergies...with all the weather changes here - they just mess with me!

Barbara, that is great news for your son. My hubby also did instructor duty in the Navy and earned the Master Training Specialist NEC code and it has been very beneficial to him in his civilian life.

Welcome back!

Oh Peri, I am so sorry to hear this - I am at home today if you want to give me a call.

Our son was in DEP for almost a year before he left and all I can tell you the closer it got, especially those last few days - the more he clammed up. I think internally he was really wondering if he made the right decision or not. The more I wanted to talk about him leaving for boot camp - the less he wanted to talk! Every letter we got, I expected him to say I HATE it but honestly his letters leaned more towards - it's not that bad, wished we did more PT, the food is good and some of the letters actually said...he was bored!!!

It's hard saying goodbye and walking into the unknown but he will be okay and we will be here to help you get thru it!

Ann, you are allow to post it. You cannot post information about deployed ships - sharing information about where they are at and when is a violation.

You can mention ship's names and homeports. You can also mention schools and locations.

Where is at school at Ann? Our son is in Dahlgren, VA for C school. Does he know where he is heading next?

Typically they do get leave after A school BUT it does depend on when the ship needs him to report. What ship will he be joining Keri?
