Welcome Cathi, I'm in East Cobb. I bet you are missing your son badly this week but it does get easier once the mail starts flowing. My nephew is a seabee as well, I didn't realize they had a school in Texas. He went to Gulfport and I know there is another school in Missouri. What is his rate with the Seabees? My nephew is in construction as a builder. Our son has been in GL since February and should be finishing his A school sometime in November. He will be an FC.

Sorry Sandra, I don't know how long school is for the GMs, you could probably call your recruiter and get a more accurate answer. It also seems like many of the A schools are scheduled for so many weeks and that changes depending on the need and the class load and each A school is different.

Thinking of you tonight Tricia - I know you just loved the PIR - Congrats!

Our son is in School in GL, he had been on hold this week but his classes started last night and we are anxious to hear how they are going. I'm sure better than the painting he had to do on hold!!!

They can be on hold waiting for their classes to begin - which is called "classed up" I understand alot of our new sailors are in hold mode when reporting to A school. Lots of new sailors out there!

Hi GA Moms! Didn't realize we had a separate group here. We are in Marietta and it looks like we have alot of different PIR dates going on. Congrats and safe travel Beth to GL today - I know how excited you are! We are ONE week away from 4/25 grad, tonight is our battle stations!! Our son called yesterday and is wonderful, he has passed everything but the BS and we should be getting that special call tomorrow.

I'm off to Gulfport today to visit my nephew who is in A school, he had PIR in March with grad 'n go orders so the family only got to spend 20 minutes with him.

So between my nephew and my son, I've been on the site since it orginated!! Please don't hestitate to ask any questions, there are so many moms will to help you.
