Ohhh Roybynkm, how sweet your daughter is! The first couple of weeks are hard because you just wonder every minute what is going on but when you get that first letter we often find ---- things are much better than we could have hoped for. So hang in there and know there is a lot of support here to help you thru those days.
And I'm just saying...I got a 5:30 am phone call from the other side of the world this morning. Happy Navy mom here!
I got that 20 sec call @ 12:05am, he sounded great but it was way to short. I miss him so much, so hard not to cry. his sister came home from college today for the weekend she was worried about me & that made me cry. Thank you ladies for all your kind & loving words. It really helps to know we are not alone.
Robynkm, Hang in there. It does get better. It's a walk we've all taken so we are happy to help you through this part of the journey. Positive thoughts going your way to comfort you.
Robynkm...Prayers are with you. I still remember our day. I wasn't able to go with him. Had to work. Dad was only able to go to the recruiter's office. It was so lonesome at home without him. It does get better. Hugs and Prayers with you.
Robynkm, Ah!!! We are here for you. I remember the day I did it. Two years ago with my youngest and about 15 years ago for my oldest. It does get better. Hang in there
This was the hardest day of my life, didn't think it would be this hard. We spent the morning @ MEPS, the swearing in was amazing. He looked so strong & confident, so ready to start this new adventure in his life. I was ok until we were at the airport & was told we could not go to the gate with him, a quick good bye & he was gone. All I could do was cry. Wanted to talk to someone & find out why I couldn't go, but I was a mess, mad at American Airlines & mad at myself for falling apart in the middle of the airport. He did text me a couple times & called and left a voice mail on my phone, so I can hear his voice when I need too. Hoping he will text me when they land, & that 30 sec call that he is there.
Katlanta, thanks, that is so cool. He is at the hotel & we are going to MEPS in the morning. Happy but also sad!
I will be there tomorrow, can't wait to meet you!
