Hi ladies i am sooo happy today got the first letter from Avia. She said she got scream at the second day. After the hair cut she touch her hair. I told her before leaving to RTC get the hair short now they just chop it off LOL. She missed us and she also said she doesn't care if her dad die dont tell her until after the graduation we are going to make it 10X harder on her. The boot camp is tough, they did not do any physical yet, she said next week all they are doing right now was brain training. What is that brain wash all the recruits hah hah ha h. I send her 5 today two of them are cards and three are letters. And of course give her lots of couragement. Will keep you all posted. She can only write on SUnday one letter so she put mine and her bf together with my letters.

ChinaDoll...You are welcome. Anything to help. I think our first real call was 4 weeks in and then it was only a couple of minutes, but katlanta is correct. They have to be good for extra calls. Most were on Sunday late in the evening, but I think that also depends on the unit.

I wouldn't put my life completely on hold. You have to keep going on. Just keep your phone close.

We received the letter after we received the box. If I remember right, it was several days later. Patience is the hardest part of this process. It is definitely a hurry up and wait adventure.

Hugs and Prayers, Susan

Hi ladies, I am happy right now. Got the box from Avia about 30 minutes ago. They send every single thing she bring at BC LOL. So funny even the bra and panty was sent home too. Now I did not get nothing but the paperworks she sign the day she left. With the boarding pass etc. It says on the first page Atlanta Meps Shippers they are 5 pages with this and that she sign.  When do I get the letter with her address so I can mail all my letters to her.

Hi Susan, thanks for the information, yes I keep my cell phone all the time. We don't have a house phone except for fax machine. So she has no choice but to call the cell for me or Matthew. Do you have an idea what time they call? Llike lunch time or dinner tme? Avia knows my schedule, I go to Aqua Fit 4x a week used to be 7x a week but I stop because I don't know when she is calling me. Matthew is always on the meeting but I told him to answer if Avia calls so I know he will. She will be gone for a week this coming Wednesday. I already start writing letters to her this way she can get one everyday at least hah hah hah. Thanks for the hugs and prayers we sure need them.:-) China

Chinadoll... Yes, it is normal. Everything is hurry up and wait. If you have a cell phone, you need to keep it with you at all times. You never know when they are going to be allowed to call. Our son would call our home phone first and then our cell phones. It will be an adventure for sure.  Prayers and Hugs, Susan

She calls me this morning so early, she wass assking who is her lasst doctor here. Wow! sounds like the Navy was asking too many questions to this kids. SO I gave her the name of the doctor, phone number and the name of the practice. Then she said to hurry up she only have 10 minutes to talk. That the Navy might call me okay.. Now I can't go to Aqua Fit or Jacuszzi because they might call me and I have no idea what time. Is this normal do they do that to all of them?- China:-(
