Susan,kathy.. Thank you so much for the prayers. Talked with him on Sunday. He is very disappointed. He doesn't know what he wants to do. He has wanted this for as long as I can remember and he is at a loss for what else might be an option. He still may be medically discharged so it may not matter what he wants. He is still in the Transition Unit, but they are allowing him to get off the leg when he needs to, which is a blessing. We were hoping the person he talked with might be of some assistance, but he was just someone who had been through a similar situation. That helped, but what they did with him may not apply to ours. We (husband and I) just feel so inadequate to help him. I feel like I have become a broken record with "Remember, we love you and are proud of you. We will support your decision". Some days, I just feel like I am no help to him at all.
To all the ladies...Thanks again for the many prayers and hugs. You are truly a great support group. I couldn't imagine going through this without you.
Paces.... What a "Blessing' it is that your son's injury is not re-broken & could be muscle related !!! My heart just sank when I read that he might have re-broken.
Bamamominga, your son will "Love" Charleston. That's where my son went for 5 years & "loved" every day there. Sooo...what a creative name you have for yourself, any meaning behind it?
I wish I could join all of you for the meet & greet, but I just got home from taking care of my M-in-L for 2 weeks, & we are back in forth to NJ every month until my daughter gets married the end of May. I don't see any clearing in my future for enjoyment with all you girls until the middle of June. Here's wishing all of you a great time, & know that I will be thinking of everyone.
Welcome, bamamominga. I am from Jackson. My sister lives in Newnan. Small world. Congratulations to your son. We will be keeping him in our prayers this next week.
Good news, we hope. Our son was able to talk with someone, not sure who, but gave him some options that he was going to check into. I haven't talked with him, but he sent a text yesterday that said he was okay and was going out to eat. Grateful that it appears the injury is muscle related and not re-broken. Thank you for the continued support and prayers. Please keep him on your prayer list. Not sure if I can make the meet and greet. I am teaching the next 5 Saturdays, but depending on the time and place, I am hoping to meet all you wonderful ladies.
HI Ya'll, I am new to this group and would love to be a part of it. We live in Newnan and my son will PIR on March 2, then will head to Charleston for Nuke School. Please keep me posted as far as the meet and greets go because I would love to attend.
Ladies...Thank you for keeping our son in your prayers. The fracture is not as bad as the first time which is good news for him. He met with the Dive Medical Officer on Thursday and he has lost his contract for EOD. They have moved him to a Transition Unit. He will be given an assignment for light duty until he heals and then they will discuss options. We are probably looking at 3 or more weeks before he hears anything else.
Ladies anywhere in Atlantic station is fine for me. No Douglasville please. At least after we eat we can go somehere else and have a great time. Anywhere in Austell is just as fine too.
