I moved here from Utah to be with my husband, and it's awesome. I missed him so much! But, I don't know the place very well, and while he's at work during the day, I am SOO bored! I need some friends, and I figure the one thing to start off having in common is being a Navy wife/girlfriend/fiance.

I've been in Virginia beach for about 2 weeks. Moved here from Texas. We have a little boy who's almost 2.

I've been here for a little less than four weeks! I don't have any kids yet, but I'm hoping soon! It's a far move.. How are you liking it so far?

Hello, I just moved to Virginia less than a month ago as well ;)
It's nice, it just gets lonely.

I live up in Hampton which can be a hike from VA beach but I have some fb groups I can share with yall, people are always posting on them looking for friends in their city, and whatnot! Spouses of Norfolk Naval Station is a facebook page its very active and has lots of people on it https://www.facebook.com/pages/Spouses-of-Norfolk-Naval-Station/228... , and here are some groups you can ask to join!

Welcome to VA! Hope that helps a little finding some friends down closer to you! I don't get down to that side of the water much just because of gas lol. but there is lotsss to do down there. If you google Virginia is for Lovers you can find a lot of activites, festivals, events etc.

Thank you so much!!

you are very welcome! lots to do here! also If you have ever wanted to visit any states on the East coast its prime location here. I think the farthest thing away we want to do is down in FL and its like a 12 hour drive! lol so many states are sooo close here!

I've lived in the hampton roads area my whole life! My husband is stationed in Norfolk but is now in Mississippi for riverine training. There are great malls to go to like lynhaven mall and macarthur mall(pay for parking) also downtown Ghent in Norfolk is very beautiful and peaceful. The oceanfront is simply packed every day in the summer and July 4th is a nightmare lol. Mount trashmore is a lot of fun if you have kids or a dog. You can also make a day trip and go to the historic Jamestown and Williamsburg. While you're up there don't forget to go to Busch Gardens or Water Country. Theres also a famous bbq place right near busch gardens, i believe its top 10 in the country but i cant recall what the name of it is. There are festivals each year like the Strawberry festival, peanut festival, pork festival. If you want to make a day trip to the outer banks of north carolina its really worth it. Certain beaches you can drive on and its alot less crowded than the oceanfront. Or you could go to sandbridge, its in va beach where all of the locals go to to get away from the tourist in the summer. But there are no shops, just beach houses. OH one more thing if you and your hubby want to have a fancy date night go to Captain Georges in ve beach. It's a seafood buffett, 30 dollars a person but totally worth it! My husband and I love it!! Hope this helps! :)

Is it Pierce's BBQ?

We are supposedly moving there pretty soon... My husband has orders there but some medical issues keep pushing his report date back. We are supposed to leave San Diego by the end of the month to head out there! Do you have kids?
I don't have any kids yet, just a dog!
Us too! My dog is my baby :) well if we still end up going I will let you know and we'll have to get together!
