Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Anyone with fiancee or husband in AIRCREW SCHOOL
Hi!
I am planning a summer wedding with my fiancee. I am wondering, since were under 26, is it required to participate in those pre-marriage seminars? They gave my fiancee a packet explaining all the things to do before we get married..like creating a budget and pre-marriage seminars...but i am wondering is this required or just suggested?
The pre-marriage classes are only the 1st saturday of every month and i live in california and he is in pensacola.. so its hard to be there to do that!

Did they say it was required for them to approve his marriage chit? Are you referring to premarital classes through the Navy or the premarital classes for Florida residents? I don't think mine took a special class (could be wrong) but I know he talked to someone about it.

It premarital classes through the navy. Neither of us are Florida residents.

Hmm... Yeah it's probably required for him then... just so they cover the basics. Even if it's not required, he might want to attend in case there's something useful. You never know and it doesn't hurt to go ^_^. Mine is a CT and we were both 25 at the time so it was different. But, he was at NATTC when we got married.

Aircrew is pretty tight on a lot of things. I would say do it. See if you can do the classes online somehow. He should be able to ask if there is a way to get it done out of state. (guys hate this part of the Navy bc they actually have to do stuff!) If it comes down to it you dont want your marriage chit denied because you didnt finish it all. In A school they are supposed to go to classes and talk to the chaplain and whatnot so they might only require him attend if you cant.

thanks.. i know one thing is a premarriage seminar that we are BOTH suppose to take
I would love to take these classes.. just hard when I live in California and he lives in Pensacola
i am going back around march 23...but the classes are only offered the first saturday of the month!
So im thinking of having him talk to chaplain and see if he can do a one-on-one with us and give us an overview of what woud have been covered during the seminar
thanks.. i know Guys hate to do stuff! I wish i could do it myself haha

oh ok. I am sure they have run across the situation before where people couldnt make the seminar so I am sure there are other options they probably just dont advertise them much lol. So he will probably just have to ask around. Possibly ask a married LPO (sadly most of the non married guys dont know much about it and will tell them wrong)
hahaha yeah I hear ya. Just tell him this is one time he is gonna have to take it all on and then after that you will take care of everything probably lol. Like my husband and I are buying a house but the loan is in his name.. I have still done everything mostly bc he doesnt know how to access the paperwork they have needed lol!
