My husband left on Oct 24th. I was informed that we wouldnt be receiving any BAH by his recruiters. Is this correct?

My husband left on October 3, 2012, and we got married August 11, 2012. I reside in Honolulu, Hawaii and we are receiving BAH

As long as the paperwork was done correctly, you should absolutely receive BAH.  It can sometimes take a month for his pay to kick in but you should definitely get it.

You should get BAH.  It should be based on the zip code that you live in and should start with his first paycheck.  First paycheck might not get there till the 1st of next month depending on how much he makes/spends for his first stuff.  I was just looking at my hubby's LES statements (he left on 5/24 for bootcamp).  His first check was deposited in our account June 15, so his week's pay in May was rolled over to the next paycheck.  He did not get any BAH for May, probably because he was only in their hands for 1 week.  He did receive an initial clothing reimbursement of $228 on the first check.  The 2nd month's LES shows full BAH amount and a debit for what he spent in the NEX to get all his uniforms and "stuff" which was $617.

So your husband's first paycheck will probably be Nov 15 or maybe not till Dec 1.  You should have BAH for Nov and each month thereafter.

Also, we only got married about 9 weeks before he left for BC.  As long as the paperwork is done, you should get it.

We got married in march. THey never asked for a lease or anything though. So will i still get it or do they need copys of our lease?

Not in boot camp.

THey dont need a lease? Then how do they know Im paying rent?

They don't.  You could be living with your mom, pocketing the BAH and it would be legal.  Later, when the sailor  gets to their first command, they will need to show a lease or a letter from whoever you live with.  If you pay less than the BAH, you get to keep the extra.  If you move into base housing, the money all goes to the company who runs it.

If you are married before boot camp, and the address is the same as the one he enlisted from, no lease needs to be shown.

Yea, we're married and have a joint account and thats the infor he took with him. Im not planning on the money but , hell, it would be an awesome extra hah`a

That would be awesome! Im still not going to get my hopes up though haha

I did the BAH calculator and it brought up two amounts. One for dependents and one for without. My question is we seriously get that whole amount??? That seems insane to me. With dependents it says 1092$ there is no way we get that much extra a month.

We just moved to San Diego. BAH is $1959/month here. We have a 4 bedroom in Aero Ridge (gov housing) with utilities paid and they just send the bah to the rental co. But it is really expensive to live here.

Yes, way!
