Okay, so I have been waiting for my boyfriend to call me. I've gotten the "I'm here" call a month ago. But nothing since then :( He left June 25, and today starts his training day 4-1. It's also the week of "Hell's week." I just thought I would have received a call by now. Any advice you guys can give me? Just curious if anybody is waiting like me or how long it took y'all to get that first call. Each passing day is getting harder because it's so hard going day by day not hearing his voice. I'm praying for one soon, but at this point I feel like I'm not going to get one till the "I'm a sailor" call. Just feeling alone right now and I know you ladies are great at relating to how it goes. His PIR is 8/17/12, so I'm over halfway. But at the same time it feels far away, especially without hearing from him.

I finally got my first letters yesterday, he sent three envelopes filled with 13 pages total! I was really happy to see that in my mailbox, then while I was reading the letters he wrote me on 7/22 saying that if he passed this test with a 50/50 on 7/23 he would get a phone call home. About an hour later I got a unexpected 30 minute phone call from him, because I thought he would call his mom first!!!! I was so happy to hear from him, but I hope this helps you a little by hearing they get rewards. Has he called his mom at all? Have you sent him a calling card? My boyfriend was on 2-5, and I did mention hell week in the letters and he said he had never even heard of it, but was happy I mentioned it to him! Other divisions had received calls home as well, but they were only about 2 minutes long, so I was thankful for the 30 minutes I got! You will get a phone call soon, and you are half way done with boot camp!
I know it's hard, but like the other ladies have said, phone calls aren't a sure thing in boot camp. Also, when they do get them, they can't always talk very long, or call more than one person, so if he called you a month ago, then there's a chance, if (and that's a big if) he got to call again, he might have called his parents the next time, depending on what relationship he has with them. If you're on good terms with her, maybe contact his mom and "pool resources" to share info as to what you all hear from him :-)
