Me and my fiance want to get married through the catholic church but we have been presented with a lot of problems lately it seems. They want us to complete marriage counseling sessions 6 months prior to marriage. Our local priest however requires us to both be physically present for these sessions. I'm in Texas though and my fiance is in California. Is there any way we can find someone who would accept counseling online? How did you girls do it? Help! I'm really running out of priests and options! lol

I have a friend that is Catholic and what she did was they got married legally on paper and then she moved with him to where he lived and they did the marriage counseling through a local church and their pastor back home where they got married accepted that. Idk if that's an option for yall but just wanted to pass along what she did.
My husband and I had a Catholic wedding. Our priest allowed us to do a marriage counseling session with another Catholic diocese since neither of us were located in the place we were getting married (the wedding was close to where we grew up, I was in school three hours away in Ohio, and he was in Virginia). I flew to Virginia for a weekend and we did our course there. We did meet with the priest who married us closer to the wedding to discuss things so he felt comfortable performing the marriage. If there are any military Catholic chaplains located near where you are getting married, you might consider asking them for help/advice.
I will tell you getting our church wedding organized was a bit of a headache with us living apart and dealing with him on sea duty, but in the end it was very much worth it for us! It CAN happen with navy life, it just takes some flexibility, willingness to have a plan B, C, and D, and some luck. :) Good luck!
