Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Communication During A School?
I'm officially one week out from seeing my love! Yay! But now i'm realizing that yes i've gotten used to this almost sort of silence while he's been in BC, but what is the communication like while he is in A School? What can i expect? I know he will be very busy still but will it still be one letter a week? And maybe like 2 phone calls?

My boyfriend graduated last friday and is attending A school in San Antonio (corpsman school) but classes havent started yet, and I think they're on like a 3 week wait to start classes. So far we talk/text everyday, but that might change when he gets into his classes and gets more busy. Where is you SR going for A school?

I'm entirely sure, Originally in Virginia Beach but he wrote a letter he was 50% sure he is actually staying in Great Lakes ad then has some sort of C school in Virginia Beach? He never got back to me on what exactly is happening. Haha. But he is going to be a Operations Specialist.

Oh ok, well either way, the communication in A school is MUCH better than bootcamp. He may have to wait a little while before classes start, cause I hear that's common, so you guys will probably get to talk everyday, even if its only brief!

Yeah, its awesome! I love getting a "good morning" call or text for my sailor and texting him throughout the day. Having bascially no communication during BC made us appreciate being able to talk so much more, and I feel like we're closer than ever! :)

hi! once my bf left BC we have talked everyday since...he graduated march 30th. in A school he was busy but would txt in the morning and then sometimes during his lunchbreak. we talked everynight...I am really proud of that - sometimes the conversations were short and other times we got to talk multiple times in a day but he set aside the time to call. I basically let him call me when he was free - there was also a time difference. talk about your expectations. I am waiting at the airport to see my bf across the country right now - it is worth it but like anything else it is work:)))

Thats so encouraging to hear! Any sort of phone call, doesn't matter if its only for 3 minutes will feel like such a gift! :) I'm actually really excited to be able to fly out and visit him!

I have found that the biggest obstacle when it comes to talking to my sailor is a lack of cell phone service on his part. He has basically no service in his barracks and when he has class/training/whatever it is that he does in one building he is not allowed to have his cell phone with him at all, so he has to leave his barracks to contact me, return to his barracks to leave his phone, and then return to his barracks to get his phone again just so that he can leave his barracks to contact me again. As a result, I do not generally hear from him much until night time unless he has time to run back to his barracks to get his phone before lunch and drop it back off after.
