Hey ladies,

So I will be visiting my boyfriend at nuke school in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if anyone has been or lived in or around the area if you had any suggestions on what to do. And also thats not 2 to 3 hours away. Boyfriend for some reason doesn't want to go that far. Lame. lol So if anyone had anything that they know of that would be fun just let me know!

Thanks!!

Beaches: Sullivan, Isle of Palm, Folly, Kiawah, Edisto

Charleston: carriage rides, ghost tours, boat rides, market, walking around, bike rides, good eats (Husk, Poogan's Porch, the Macintosh, McCrady's, SNOB, Glazed Donuts, Amen, Fig), S.C. Aquarium, Fort Sumter

You can also boat, fish, paddle board, kayak, etc. around Shem's Creek, Charleston Harbor, the Cooper River

Plantations/Gardens: Boone Hall, Magnolia Plantation, Cypress

If you're a Yankee/baseball fan, you can watch the Riverdogs play (free military night on July 28).

Oh and Savannah, GA and Tybee Island are both 2 hours away (if you guys are willing to go that far)

There's tons of things to do!!

Check out Cypress gardens. Its where the Notebook (and a list of like 9 other movies) was filmed. Ya know the scene where they're rowing.. yup. You can take a boat out and row on it too. It's super cool!

I've heard the Aquarium is pretty lame for how much it costs.

Definitely go to the beach and hang out there. :)

I've been told the USS Yorktown is pretty darn cool. I never got a chance to go check it out though.

There's an Ice Skating rink in North Charleston that's tons of fun to do.

Walking around downtown is pretty cool too. The open market is awesome to see all the handmade stuff!

I'm trying to think of other stuff we did and can't right now..

Oh! The Riverside Park. It's back in this old shipyard, but it's super pretty once you get there. They've filmed Army Wives there before.

Definitely the beach and Cypress Gardens. I'm from Ohio, so I could spend all day on the beach and be pretty content. :)

Lol, the funny thing about Patriot's Point (where the USS Yorktown is) - half of our Nuke friends think it's cool ("Cool, big boat!!!"), and the other half wants to stay as far away from it ("Why would I want to be reminded of work/school on my day off??") hahaha

O the Cypress Gardens sound cool. I might have to drag my boyfriend there and make him do it. I want to go to the beach just to be in different water. Me and my boyfriend are from Texas down south and we have always gone to the beach and had to swim in the dirty gulf of mexico so hopefully we will get to go hang out down there.

Thanks for all the help. We really only have Sat and Sun to do most of this stuff maybe a little of friday. But thanks for all the suggestions!
