I did wait until phase II, and went down if he will be there a long time it might be worth it for you to wait until phase 3 bc he will get to leave base for the weekend as long as he doesnt hve duty. My husbands was only like 8 weeks so thats why we rushed. But the sooner you get married the sooner everything is in order and the sooner you can start saving for the move and stuff. The cost were about $135 if I remember correctly. If both you and your sailor are not FL residents then there is no waiting period so you can get everything done in one day (as long as you are there by 4 pm) You just go in fill out the paperwork and they have a "marriage room" where they do the ceremony and you are done! :) Make sure he fills out the paperwork!!! no matter how many LPOs tell him he doesnt have to he does!!! My husband didnt believe me until his chief found out about it and pulled him in 5 days before we were supposed to get married and laid into him and the guys that told him wrong. We almost didnt get married bc of that. so make him do it!

I have to agree with meagan5220. I made plans for us to marry on the weekend of the 4th of July at our home town. I made plans and reserved and paid for embassys suite then the military said they decided everyone couldn't come home. (Phase2)
So I flew to San Antonio with my fam an friends and I planned a beautiful wedding downtown San Antonio on marriage island. I wish we would  have waited until phase 3 because I had to take him back on base everyday we were there. :-( So I had this beautiful room at the Westin but only a limited
Amount of time with my husband.
The entire process of marriage certificate/license was extremely fast and easy.
You'll need to print out the app online @ Bexar county website. The app fee is $66 and being that he is military there isnt a waiting period. Once you finish the app at the clerk of court office they can direct you to a judge down the hall to marry you immediately after.
So I would agree, wait until phase 3 to really experience the weekend as newlyweds.
Hmm didn't think about that one. He lives in PPV housing right now, would they nesscessarily know if he lived with me? I told him to keep his PPV, (just in case he gets on my nerves, of course haha)
