OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Getting married in A-school?
Okay ladies, I am seriously stressing out and I need some advice. My fiance is at Fort Meade, MD for his A-school, and we want to get married before he gets his orders. What exactly do we need to do to get this accomplished? We have both been told different things by different people and neither one of us is sure what to do. I thought I had to fill out a non-resident affidavit to get married in Maryland (since I live in Missouri) and that is what someone told him (I'm not sure who exactly or what their authority is on the subject), but I called the courthouse and they said that he can just go in and apply for the license without me and I don't need one. Is this true? Has anyone been through this before that can give me some concrete information? Anything would be appreciated at this point. We're both really confused and overwhelmed right now and not sure who to talk to or even what to ask. Sorry if this is rambling. Thanks in advance!

You are in luck, i live in MD and just got married to my sailor in dec of 2012! Yes, he does not need you to go get the license.. the license i think is valid for 6 months. He will need his ID, your birthplace, your social, and your birthdate. I think you have to wait like 2 or 3 days before you can get legally married. Then me and my hub just went in and had someone from the courthouse do a little ceremony and I dos and we were handed our certificate. I reccomend going to Annapolis... its only about 30 min from Ft. Meade.. and they have one of the simplest processes by far. Feel free to email me if you have any questions! Rani327@gmail.com :)

The best advice I have for you is to figure out who the authority is on what your question is about and ask them. For the marriage license, the courthouse would be the authority. For the Navy policy regarding students getting married, he has to ask his chief or go up his chain or even the chaplain. There are so many differences in state laws, bases, even individual commands within a base, that you really can't get concrete info from a source like this unless someone is in the exact same boat (hehe, pun intended!). Luckily, it looks like Ranibabi was in your boat last year, so that sure helps! Good luck!
