Me and my fiancée want to get married next week he got approval by his chief he's seeing the marriage counselors and arranging everything (He's in A school) now my question is what should I except? Any advice? Were getting married in Chicago. I'm flying out either Thursday or Friday and I know they don't marry on weekends unless we have a marriage certificate we can go to another judge or clergy? My fiancée is busy so not everything is clear to me yet. And I don't wanna bother him with unnecessary questions. Any advice would help! Please and thank you!! I'm also new to this website. So I'm not too sure how this works.

I'm in the same suituation!!! But our problem is my boyfriend doesn't get out of school till 4... And the court closes at 4:30 so we have to figure out how to sign our marriage license. Is your boyfriend getting out early? Or do you know the time he gets out of class? Because to get a marriage license there only open till 4:30pm :(
I'm not sure! I'll ask him right now.
Congratulations though!
I wish I knew what I was doing when I got there.
No problem. My boyfriend is in SC right now and is there for 2 years for A school. Gettin married in A school isn't easy. If you have any tips about marriage let me know. Were hoping to get married by July :)
What is your sailor gonna wear? And you too?
Mine said he's gonna wear his whites and I wanna wear a white dress but I'm pregnant and it's really hard to find a dress. :/

Good news, that county does weekend ceremonies.  You will be using the Lake County clerk.  They stay open late on Fridays to get the license, and there are JoPs on hand Saturday morning to perform the ceremonies.   Sunday is also listed, but double check that with a phone call.  I think it is so if you get a Saturday license, you can marry on Sunday.  Vital records is open until 7.  It is the judges who go home earlier.

This is for Chicago ? The A-school there...?
Thank you this sounds very helpful!

Yes, for Waukegan (which is where Great Lakes is).  They actually are very helpful to the military.

I'm just glad I have something happy and positive to post for once!

Okay! Well hopefully everything works out!(: thank you so much!!
Congrats! My fiancé and I plan on getting married in Chicago on June 7th! He too is in A school! I fly there June 5th so the following day we would go and apply for our license! He called and scheduled us to marry on Saturday June 7th! So you can marry on a Saturday but you will need to call to schedule an appointment! Don't feel like your bothering him because it's a HUGE step to take in a relationship! I was overwhelmed with the process at first but my fiancé reassured me that he will take care of everything. I'm sure your fiancé is handling the confusing part! Just make sure you call the court house to secure your date so you can better prepare for what's to come!
Thank you! A lot of good info! I'm going next week ! Hopefully everything is good by then!

Sooooo, is tomorrow the day?  I know, you won't be online, but I am thinking about you and hoping everything goes perfectly!
