Hey Ladies,

My sailor and I just got married while he was at school so I could be on his orders when he gets them: The only problem is that he is getting the run around as to where he needs to go to fill out the stuff to get me on his paperwork. He was told it was legal but legal told him no they could not help him. Does anybody know where he has to go to get this done so I can be on his orders?

Thanks in advance for the information, we are getting a little frustrated feeling like this was supposed to be the easiest part of the process but it's turning out to be a lot harder than we had planned for.

He goes to PSD (personnel support detachment).  Same office where they handle his pay.   Whoever told him legal was either incredibly uninformed or was messing with him.

Edit: I see he's at San Antonio.  The Army calls that office something different, or the paperwork is handled by Navy personnel elsewhere.  Ask in the corpsman group for sure, I'll google in the meantime.

He will need to call to make the DEERS appointment.

thanks Anti M,

I truly appreciate the information. I am already in the DEERS system. I was able to handle that while I was in san Antonio, with the help of a very handy Power of Attorney because he was in class while they were open. (a little persistence as well  because really they do not love walk ins and I wanted to handle it while I was there.) His CO told him to go to legal, I knew it was wrong though because when I changed my work information I had to go to HR so this adds up to me. Thanks again, I am going to see if I can not get him to make an appointment because I know that things get clogged up there very easy. :)

My sailor and I just got married on friday, and we are leaving tomorrow to go back to Point Loma to get me on his paperwork. Will we need to make an appointment there and is it the same office?

Please and Thank you lol

Different base, different answer.  Call them to find out if you need an appointment.  With most Navy PSD offices, you do not.

My husband was able to use the information that you gave me Auntie M to find where he needed to be. He gets the papers back in about a week. Is there any reason that they would deny this? We just want to be together when he finally gets his orders.

If he is still in "A" School and doesn't have follow on orders yet, once everything is in the computer system showing he is marred.  The detailers will see that and you will be on the orders to his first command....but if he already has orders to his first command than they dont' have to change anything

Thanks for the heads up, I never thought navigating this would be so challenging but slowly it's all coming together. :)
