Hey Everyone,

I am starting to feel a little better about my husband leaving to be stationed in Japan. I am thinking, maybe it will be good for me and my 9 month old daughter to go over there with him once he goes up in rank. Some parts of me though, think, Is it safe for us to go over there?! Is it worth waiting back in the states when its possible i can go?!

What are your thoughts?? He leaves in January, and I have no worries about our marriage and us making it. I have been with my husband for 6 years, and we are high school sweethearts. I just want to know if I am making the right decision.

From what I hear the families that have been to Japan love it.  I've heard it's very safe, safer than parts of the US.  Of course, this is just what I've heard from others, haven't been there personally.  Good Luck!!
Hey my fiance is being stationed in Japan too,,i'm probably not much help bcause i don't know much either lol but it will be ok.I hear that it's nice and safe too and cheaper haha but as far as what to do,do what you feel is right and what YOU want to do and what is best for your daughter.Best wishes!!!

I was stationed there for 12 years.  It is tremendously safe and family friendly.

What does he think of the idea?  Because two years is an unaccompanied tour, to bring you over on command sponsorship, even if he's been there a while, he will have to extend his tour another year at least.  You need the command sponsorship to stay there.

Actually, my spidey sense is tingling, even the single sailors are pulling three year tours.  Are you sure it is only two years?  Something seems not quite right.

im 6 monthes pregnant and my husband my get put over there and i have the same questions as you do
