For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello!
Hello everyone my husband went last week to start his paper work he filled out his finical paper work and he had to write the "Why Navy" letter hand written statement of stating why he wants in. His reciter told him it is looking really good and they will call him and schedule a phone interview with someone hire up in the command and he has to state to them why also. I feel confident that everything is going to work out, I am just wondering if anyone else's husbands, boyfriends, etc.. also had to write this same letter? Thanks :)

Yup, sure did. My husband was in DEP (Delayed Entry Program) from Dec to May and he had to go in once a week to "check in" plus go to a DEP meeting once a month. He had to hand write the "Why Navy" sheet every time. Tell your husband to memorize his answer and get good at writing it with no mistakes. No cross outs, or white out. If they make a mistake they have to rewrite it on a new sheet. lol, poor guys!

Yep, my husband did. He doesn't remember what he wrote though. And it was before we were married so it isn't just for guys with families. :)
