For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello Everyone
Hey Ladies,
Just wanted to say hello to my fellow Navy Moms, Wives, Girlfriends, and loved ones. My hubby joined and we are in DEP until February... I have mixed emotions about being in DEP but it is what it is. Just was wondering if anyone has advice about what to expect being a Navy Wife. I am excited to start our journey but nervous about moving and changing our lives. We both lived the normal life.. We met in college graduated, got married, house, jobs and now a beautiful little girl.. and wow things are going to change. Excited for our new future! My husband is going to be an Aviation Crewman, so if there are any ideas of what to expect with that HELP!!!! Hope everyone is well and God Bless, do not know much about the Navy yet, but here to support anyone that needs it!

Thanks for all your thoughts that's so helpful my husband leaves in under two weeks for basics and things are starting to feel scary to me i am kind of in denial over the whole thing :) and i really want him to go so he can hurry up and come back.

Thank you Sparkeys Piglet, lots of great information. Yeah I have been going to the meeting with him and we have been studying all the information, I will look into that book seems intersting!!!! I have meet some people that are leaving with him and he is also in a leadership role right now, which he loves. He is sort of the "OLD MAN" of the group! LOL..at age 26 lol. I know I will keep busy with a little girl on my hands but the down time is something I will have to get use to. I love the idea of a list of things to do while he is gone! Working and having a little girl will hopefully keep me busy and traveling to see my mom in SC. I feel the same way, I am loving the time we have together espcially getting the holidays, but I am more itching at the fact that things are going to change and I want to know how.. I am very impatient!!! Thank you for all your recommendations they really help! NL will be heading to NACCS after bootcamp for Naval Air Crew school and then off to A-school in FL, so we are doing a lot of research on that as well.

My husband was in the DEP program for 7 months. It was a long time. The whole process took over a year from the day he went to talk to a recruiter. Just remember to look at the start guide and memorize everything. That is the best way to hit E2 while in bootcamp. My husband actually made E3 in bootcamp. So as long as he works hard it will pay off for him. My husband turned 25 in bootcamp so I understand the "old man" joke. LOL there were a couple men older than him. I also cherished every moment with him. We did a lot of family things and visiting people. It was way hard the couple days before he left and then the day he left, but honestly after that it went by super fast. I just waited for my letters, and phone calls. I kept myself surrounded by friends and family and enjoyed my time with them. My husband and I have never ever spent time apart so I thought I was going to be a mess, but I only broke down a couple times when he was gone. Sometimes it was because my son was so sad. He turned 3 right before my hubby left. He missed his dad terribly that was the hardest thing to watch. He acted out a lot too, but he is starting to get back to normal with our new routine. Now he is in A-School in Pensacola and we came down here too it has been a lot of fun. Good Luck just know that the light is at the end of the tunnel.....

Oh yeah and one thing I have learned here is never I mean never plan for anything!!!!!!! For us they have changed orders several times since he was in bootcamp. Plan for the unexpected if you really want to plan. Get on the Great Lakes FB page they have a lot of information that really helped me during the time he was gone and even posted pics of his division so I got to see him it was great!!!!
