While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Help Please!! Gift Ideas
Hello ladies, my sailors PIR is next week (finally!) and i spent theses past 2 months thinking of how much i missed him and not much on what to get him...any ideas?? i would really appreciate it, what do they usually get for PIR, i would like something meaningful

Well, until they get to A-School they can't have any gifts anyways. So whatever you get him, you'll have to wait until after he gets to his A Schoolto be able to keep it. If you know what ship he was on, there is a guy who makes Coins with their ships on them. They are really nice but he only makes them for some Ships. You should check though. It will show that what he went through meant just as much to you as it did to him.

When my sailor went to A school I waited til I got his address and I printed a bunch of pictures off of us and put them in an album and sent them to him. They dont have tons of room so it is best to wait a little bit if you want to get him something bigger. and also figure out what their rules are but I havent heard of an a school yet that doesnt allow some pictures :) An album will keep them organized and not take up a ton of room. Also, if you sign up for sites like shutterfly, snapfish, clark photo, walgreens photo, and york photo you get free prints for signing up. Just pay shipping!! My sailor still has his almost 2 years later. Before he left for deployment last december we added some more pictures of stuff we had done between a school and deployment. He would randomly text or email me saying hey remember that time we went to do such and such. Looking through the pictures reminded him of those memories.

but if you do give them a gift at PIR you will have to probably keep it or wait to give it to them at the airport if you get to see them off there. My sailor didnt leave Great lakes til the tuesday after PIR so that wasnt an option for me. But some A schools do have restrictions about what they are allowed to have.

I got my husband a nice black watch that we can wear everyday with his uniform, he loves it.

That's a good idea, I gave him one before left though :-/ Is there a specific color they need to use with their uniform?

I am pretty sure there are regulations for watches with a uniform. So I would check before buying one.

Oh well that's nice, I was thinking of a scrapbook but I'm starting to think you might be right, I should get him something small maybe and then I can send him something once he's in A school
