We'll we just finished boot camp and I'm struggling with this new change. He stayed at Great Lakes and is at a distance that is still close enough to visit. But I'm struggling with the thought he is living this whole separate life from me. I saw all these people walking around and being social and it's just weird to think he could be doing all this stuff while I'm here doing my routine which really doesn't involve much. How do u handle the separate life's? How do they handle being treated like a teenager all over again? He is 30

My boyfrind and I have been togethe for over 2 years and he just left this morning for bootcamp. Right now I am having a very difficult time with all of these emotions and thoughts. Is he going to move on? Will we fall apart? How do I stay storng? I set an appoinment to talk to a counselor but thats not until Fed 3 rd, what can i do in the mean time ?

I would say start writing him now, thats what I did and that helped me a lot.  Don't count the days, count Fridays.  Just keep telling yourself positive things.  It really helped when I would get a letter each week with him letting me know how much he missed me or thought of me.  That helped with knowing his feelings weren't changing.

Thank you, I started my first letter today and it felt good to get some of it out. Now I really cannot wait to hear how he is and that everything is going well. Did you usually get one letter a week once the letters started arriving?
Remember for each sad thing let him know how proud u r. Encourage like crazy
