So I just found out my sailor's PIR is 10/19. Anyone else have any sailor's graduating this day?

Lucky!!!! Hi, Amanda. My fiance is in the same ship and division as your husband. When he first left, I didn't think I would feel the need to start reaching out like this, but I am starting to go a little stir crazy with wondering what they are doing! The primary issue is that so far, his parents and I have only received one letter, and I want so badly to be able to encourage him in ways that address his specific challenges - but I have no idea what those challenges might be! Writing the same old, same old, "I love you, this is my life, I hope that it provides a welcome diversion from whatever you are doing, you can succeed at whatever you are doing, I know that you will be able to do whatever you are doing with success that can be considered as admirable when compared to your peers, however such a standard may be set." How generic and frustrating is that?!? :P At least we are all in the same boat. (By the way, does anybody else hope that their significant other is stationed on a ship just for the opportunity to constantly say, "I'M ON A BOAT!!!" Because I really really really do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8F3UE9qFsg )

This cracks me up... but  "boats" in the Navy are submarines, and a sub sailor will never let you forget it. Which makes it funnier.
