For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Just left & Lots of moving?
Hi everyone! I actually just joined this group a few days ago in hopes that it would help me cope with the fact that my boyfriend of over a year and a half left for BC last week. So far, it's working.
So I've been talking with a lot of people from work and a few from school who has family in the Navy and they have said that there is A LOT of relocation. Is this true? My boyfriend is in Great Lakes, IL through C-school so that gives us some time to really think about things. We have talked some about getting serious and maybe marrying a few years down the road, but nothing's set in stone. So if that happens, then I figured I would be encouraged to stay with him through everything. I find this might be an issue because of my job. I work for a government agency, and there are only 6 or 7 locations in the U.S. including where I am now; Fort Meade (some of you may know what I'm talking about). I'm just not sure what to do. Giving up my job would be a HUGE thing to do, but if we really do work out and all, then it might be worth it. If I do have to give up my job, what do you think my best option would be as far as employment goes?
