For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I missed my first call too, my boyfriend officially left may 4th but I haven't seen him since April 29th. I was on a plane when the "I'm here" call came. Right now he is a recruit, he will be a full blown sailor after he passes Battlestations 21, the ultimate test here where they will be challenged on everything they learned throughout bootcamp. The first week I think is the hardest, after a bit you just get into the swing of things and the separation gets a lot easier. As soon as you/his parents get the address, write him as many letters as you can, they live for them! You should get another phone call in 3-4 weeks. The first call isnt much, this one will be longer. Remember to be as encouraging as you can in your letters. Sure, we're miserable without them, but they don't need to be worrying about us so try to stay upbeat. Keep yourself busy, it really makes it easier. My boyfriend graduates in 22 days!(: I will be attending the graduation. Where are you from? Are you planning on going to graduation? I reccommend finding the PIR group for your boyfriend, it will be a group of loved ones who all have recruits graduating at the same time. One should be up in a week or so. Hi there! You can be very proud that your sweetie has joined the BEST Navy in the world! It will be tough for you here at home but it's going to be even more difficult for your recruit and he will need all the letters and support that he can get. Join the group "Boot Camp" and it will answer a lot of questions for you. When you find out what division he's in, you can join that group and will meet a lot of wonderful Moms/Girlfriends/Wives of others that are in the same situation you are. Welcome and hang in there!

I started the count down 69 days till bc over. And yeah I'll be at graduation we live in Chicago so guess we're lucky we don't have to go far.

Oh cool, I live out here too(: I live in the NW suburbs, near schaumburg if that rings any bells. I'd totally meet up sometime! There will be days when it just "hits you" that he's gone. But usually a day or so later you're fine again. There are always good days and bad days, just try and focus on how good of a thing this is for him. Also, you will find absence really does make the heart grow fonder!

Yeah I know where that is. It kind of scary to think about the bad days that will come, cause of right now I think Im handling it well. But I know their coming. It just feels so unreal. That funny that you mention that quote because me and my boyfriend want to get it tattooed.

Keep busy, hang out with friends as much as possible, and write lots of letters! The first week or two is hard but it DOES get better. I have just 22 days to go before he graduates and looking back things were not as bad as they seemed at the time. Write, write, write as soon as you can!

So you went to the game? My first day has being preoccupied by my four year-old brother. So I'm guessing your guy and mines will be in the same division, so it looks well be in this together.He tried to call me Monday night but i missed the call.

Stay busy, it makes it easier! My hubby officially left the 12th. Then on the 14th-16th, I was at Disneyland, staying at the hotel with 3 other friends. Then the 17th, a friend came over and spent the night and then took me to the airport. The 18th-31st I was in San Antonio visiting two of my best friends. I've been trying to spend as much time with family and friends since. My sister had me over for dinner last night. And I write him lots of letters when I can, nothing negative, very encouraging. I put in jokes and pictures (I make my own stationary putting sized down pictures into Microsoft Word, print it out and then handwrite on it. He gets pics, and it takes up less space in his rack) and even tell him about little details like the weather and what happened on our favorite shows.

I got the form letter on the 21st with his address (I got his address from his recruiters before that, but they gave it to me in a different format and it was returned as undeliverable) I got his first "real" letter on the 2nd. He got the letters I sent on the 1st on the 3rd. So for me, it takes about 2 days for my letters to get to him and vice versa. (I live in CA)
