For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Also just FYI all pictures are looked at by others and if they are, I'm how can I put this....provocative or adult themed they will probably (by this I mean definitely) confiscated. That doesn't mean don't send them just realize that what you send will be checked by superiors. I waited for a few weeks before I sent my sailor pictures and she picked out which to send her (3 total) and of me and her, me her and our dog, and I believe the third was of her family. Otherwise as previously stated make sure there is enough postage, the address is printed clearly, etc. sorry if this seems redundant or like I'm speaking down to you but people still do it and sailors are "picked" on about it. And they can and will take the pics. Otherwise I made sure to date and number all of my letters (military dates as follows year date month.... I believe might want to double check that)

Oh yea! Definitely no sexy pics! Lol. Just some of his brothers and I and things like that. Oh! About the date. I have dated and numbered all letters, but I didn't write it military style. Will that be a problem?

I dated mine too but not military style. Doesn't matter for us writing to them.
As far as the envelope the plainer the better. Anything super thick or that feels like there is something else in it will get opened and checked before it gets to him. Any envelope that brings attention (such as colored or with stickers, etc on the outside) might not get checked but he will get teased to no end for it. I sent all of mine in separate plain white envelopes with only our addresses and stamps on them.
I printed pictures on white paper and wrote my letter around that to save space and so I could send him silly things that I was doing every day to
make him feel a little closer to home :) -

Plus he loved getting tons of envelopes.... He said their first mail call he had the most & it made him feel really good :) they LIVE for opening letters, he said it was like Christmas when he got a bunch of envelopes at once!

Thanks for the advice!! I never thought of printing the pictures out on white paper :) oh yea! And for his actual letters, I wrote in purple and green pen. Is that bad? On the envelope I will write in black or blue, but the letters are purple and green. I don't want him to get teased :/
