So my husband heads to A School at Corry Station April 23 (the day after his graduation in Great Lakes). I am planning to drive down there and move around May 1. I called the Gateway Inn and they told me I can definitely live there with me husband. Definitely shocked me because everyone that talked to me on here told me I was not able to live on base- y'all meant of meant in the housing because I can live at the hotel! His schooling is 24 weeks. Has anyone else lived at a hotel on base?

Hi! I didn't say they did I said we got per diem but if she could afford to out of pocket then go far it :-). Yes, I understand that! We are 5 years in and have experienced 2 C schools. I was just telling her mainly about the experience that I had there.

I understand.  However, mentioning per diem is just confusing, as it does not apply to her situation at all.  C school students are housed at Gateway when the fleet returnee barracks is full or they are married, but not A school students.  His chain is not going to approve Live Ashore with a hotel reservation.  Maybe he can put in a chit for an overnight visit for one weekend when she arrives, give them time as a couple to find a place to rent so he has a lease to show, and they can take full advantage of the BAH.

She asked me, was it expensive in return that's what I told her about per diem paying for our stay. She asked a question, therefore I answered. Yes! Maybe he can! Hopefully!!! :-)

I think it will all work out, just not the way she is planning.

I know you want to see him, but you may want to wait until he gets settled in. I'm sure you can see him during the day when he's not busy, but I highly doubt you would be able to spend the night with one another (just from experience). My husband was at the Gateway like 90 days and my son and I went the last 30 due to me working or else I would of been there the entire 90.
