Hey so anyone can feel free to comment i'd really appreciate it. So my sailor is currently only going to be in A school for only one month and then is being shipped overseas. We talked about getting married before he goes. Does anyone know if it's hard to get married before he leaves?

He can do it he will just need a chit for permission to leave base and so his command knows what he is doing. On the sad note you will not be going with him as he will be to junior grade for you to go unless they can change everything in a month. I don't know if they can. AntiM may know more but you will not go with him overseas. Sorry hope it helps
Thank you , we weren't planing for me to go with him overseas. Is it possibly that he can get married without his parents knowing ?

He is an adult, no one from the Navy is going to inform his parents about what he is doing.  As Michael said, he will need a marriage chit approved if you are going to be married while he is in A school. After you are married, he will have to enroll you in DEERS and get you set up for Tricare.  It is possible that you could not join him during his entire term overseas, depending on the location. Anti M has a blog post about this, just type "command sponsorship" in the search bar and it should come up.

Hi, sorry for the delay, I have been away, where I could not go online.

If you are both adults, and you want to marry while he is on leave before he goes overseas, you can marry according to the local laws.  Because he will have checked out of his A school command, he doesn't even need a chit.  Just go do it.  His new command may be annoyed, but since you are not planning on joining him, it will be okay.  The Navy cannot forbid him to marry if it is a legal union between two people over the age of 18.  His parents do not need to know.

Google "marriage licenses" for the county you reside in, and that will give you the information you need to marry.  Get your paperwork together now, certified copies of your birth certificate, SSN card, and state ID or driver's license.  Ask for several copies of the marriage certificate, you both will need them.  Use the RAPIDS locator to see if there is a facility nearby where he can get you enrolled in DEERS and tricare, and an ID card before he goes overseas.  That will make your life much easier.
