So my fiance just got paid today, as everyone pretty much did, but he started basic on may 7th and as I was looking at how much he got paid it was not what we both though it would be. Could anyone explain as to why that would be like that? I mean could they have only paid him from the 15 to the 1st or do they pay from when you start basic? I am so confused over this and of course I have now way to ask him to see whats going and I really don't know whats going on. Can anyone help me????

Keep in mind also sense you are just his fiance, he doesn't get housing allowance nor separation pay.  So if you where counting on those in his pay...he only would have gotten those if he was married

Yeah, good point. I didn't even think about that...I completely overlooked the "fiance" part. My bad, sorry.

I did it for myself and for my husband but then, I had a power of attorney that allowed to take action in his behalf and, as mentioned previously, I didn't think about the fact that if your not married yet you really can't do that for him unless you have a POA. Sorry, my fault I should have paid attention to the word "fiance". Unfortunately, a fiance means nothing in the military until you are married...it's just practical for them.

Yea I know that the fiance part doesn't mean anything to the military, and I was contemplating doing it but I would rather him not get mad and for us to not get into trouble. But thank you.

Technically they don't pay for the uniforms, the uniform allowance goes in and comes right back out. What they pay for is stuff like socks, underwear, pt gear and running shoes, etc. It adds up.

Don't forget the pay is taxed. State tax in some cases too.

Im navy federal and got mine on Thursday. maybe hes not able to transfer but it should show up in your joint account. Im so sorry that its not there yet though that can make things a little stressful

Yea we set up an account at a bank before he left because I moved from GA to OH so I would be with my family and he got paid but it was half of what we thought it would be, and I haven't looked yet to see if anything else went in but i doubt it and I had to send him a letter to let him know about it and to check for it. But they do not have computers in basic so I don't know how they are going to look at that but he made his mother beneifciary for everything so maybe she can see about it but I might just wait till I see him which as you know is like 30 days away!!! AHHH I'm so excited

But my check was ok. I was able to pay the bills with it but i also get more due to the fact that we are married. I paid the bills and got everything paid for the move. just not the place yet =/. but what i want to know is what happens on the 15th

Thets the exact thing I am wondering and how much he will get paid on the 15th so hopefully its equal and not less...

Miz Panama I think we are getting pay on the 15 as well.
