While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Also was it because he is FC and was in holds? He is not on holds anymore he just started ATT school.

While I don;t have access to the Great Lakes regulations specifically, I can tell you what I do know. If you had not moved to the area, he could have stayed in the barracks for free during training. But his status changed when you arrived and moved into base housing. Now he cannot move back into the barracks unless there is room, he'd be in geo-bachelor status and would PAY for the same barracks room he had for free before. He'd still get BAH, but it would go to pay for his room, IF they had one for him, otherwise, he'd have to rent an apartment. He will always get BAH because he has a dependent, but it goes to housing now... and a free barracks room is not a promise. It is complicated. And they'll look for fraud too, so be careful.
The big question is, has he asked his CPC or Personnel, who are the people who handle status and pay, or is he just getting opinions? First step is to get a 100% answer on how it will work. I haven't heard of the geo-bachelor for A school students, but I also have never heard of someone moving out of the barracks and then want back in. If is it so, it is a valuable piece of information.Hold has nothing to do with it.
Have you gone to financial counseling? It is free from Fleet and Family Services. They may be able to help you lower interest rates, or find ways to organize spending optimally. I'm sure you're doing all you can, but they might have other resources you don't know about.

Thank you Anti M you're always so much help. He is live ashore he never moved out he still sleeps in his room when he is on duty and is part of his duty section and all that . He is going to find out tomorrow for sure. It's just hard being new and not knowing how anything works . No I haven't I've heard of and I think I should go

I found the numbers and some descriptions. FFSC really is helpful, and usually the staff are terrific and friendly. I used to volunteer at the one in Japan.
