While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Moving Company in Atlanta?
Does anyone have a good company they can recommend for a moving company for my son and his wife to move their HHG from Atlanta to Charleston? He is doing a PPM move and we are trying to find a reputable company that can comply with the process of making sure the weight tickets are done correctly and there don't seem to be many truck scales in Atlanta. Any help on the above would be appreciated. This is his first move. My son is in school in Charleston. His wife just had a baby and we are trying to help with the move since he can't take any time off from school to come help move them! Thanks!

If they are doing a PPM, that generally means they rent a truck and pack it out themselves, weigh the vehicle empty and full, get reimbursed for miles driven. Why on earth are they not doing a full packout if they want to use movers? Do it on the Navy's dime, as hiring them is quite expensive personally. He may be thinking he's going to make bucks, but it does not work that way. I know you want to help, but having your parents pay for the move is just not normal. I'd have a serious talk with him if I were his chief.
Just google CAT scales, they have a locator map. There are several in the Atlanta area, I just looked.
I have been through a lot of packouts, as a sailor, a dependent child, and as a dependent spouse. I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but it is the one which makes the most sense. He needs to talk to PPO again, and schedule a packout.
