While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We were stationed there. One thing I will tell you is do NOT live in Everett. For one thing, the commissary and everything is in northern Marysville (the town north of Everett) in an area called Smokey Point. For another, Everett has a lot more crime and stuff. They've built a lot more housing since we left (they were just starting it as we were leaving) and I've heard it's nice, so contact their housing office and look into that. I would look at living in Arlington / Smokey Point, Lake Stevens, or even Marysville, or, if you head south of Everett, in Lakewood. Those all have nice areas to live that aren't too far from base (some of them are even where the base housing is), and if you go with the first ones I mentioned (that are to the north of the base, which is in northern Everett) you'll also be close to the commissary and stuff. We started in Marysville and moved to the Arlington part of Smokey Point. We were about 5 - 10 minutes from the commissary and about 30 minutes (once you figured traffic) from the base.
