My birthday I should be happy.

Yesterday, was my  birthday and I didn't even want to get out of bed.   My husband left for bootcamp on  Sept, 2nd and its only week two. The first week was really hard after the  last phone call "Hey I will call you in three weeks "love you bye CLICK .Then my 3 year old daughter wanted to say I love you daddy . However, there  wasn't enough time made me break down. Its crazy because I never thought I would be this emotional. Ive been apart from my husband before for work , but the fact that I have no communication gives me Anxiety. I have so many questions and Im just a worrier thats what I do. However,  Just realizing the small things we take advantage  of makes me appreciate life more. I received his box the other day and even though its just his phone and  clothes  it was  still nice to get something. I just have to remind myself that he is there to better himself, he isn't in trouble he isn't dead, or sick. He's doing something that he's finally took the courage to do.   Next week is week 3 . Does anybody know what day  they called on? Also if you guys received any letters by the end of week 2? Any advice welcomed. TIA.

My fiance called saturday night of the 2ND week and I got my first letter on the 3rd thursdsay. Letters always came on Thursdays and phone calls sat or sunday. I got 4 phone calls total. As anxious and sad as you feel right now, I can honestly say that it really does get better. It was halfway through that I started to actually be able to get through the day without crying. And planning thr trip to PIR definitely helped. It will get a little bit better each day. One other thing, when he does calll you he will probably be very emotional and upset himself, so try to just let him know that you are doing well. Because they are doing through so much in bootcamp it will only make it harder for him knowing that you are struggling. I waited until after PIR to tell him what a mess I was lol

Thank you!! I pray its tomorrow .Wow 4 thats good to know  :(      Did you send your husband a phone card or would he be able to purchase one. Also would be able to purchase stamps. All of these things just occurred to me . I don't have his address yet. Im debating on asking the recruiter because I heard they  might give the wrong one.  Oh yes I won't  tell him. We been together for 8 years I know he knows  Im  a mess :( . How long was your first phone call. Did you actually get to have at least a 5 min conversation. Thanks again.

They can buy phone cards and stamps there.  You'll have his address soon.  They can start writing sooner than they begin receiving mail, the division has to train a recruit mail handler.  Mail is very important, so it is good they do it right.  

Sometimes writing the worst part of how you feel in a journal is one way to deal with the feelings.  Then he can read it later if you both think it i right.  You have a "new  normal" now, and just don't know how to deal with it yet.  You'll get there, it just is a tough and bumpy path for now.

Thank you! I just  received his form letter today. Even though it wasn't a love letter it was  exciting o find out his graduation date.

I finally received the form letter today. Even though it wasn't a "love letter" It was still nice to get something and to finally have his correct address. Also finding out his graduation date so we can starry planning. CAn't wait for my first letter. have you received a phone call yet?

It'll get better. My husband left August 5th. I was so upset and lost for a few days, but it got better. Every Thursday's are like Christmas. The amount of calls they get can vary. I got an extra one because my husband was accepted into the Ceremonial Guard. Anyways it will get way easier.
