Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My boyfriend's mother doesn't want me to go to his PIR.
I love my boyfriend's mom and she loves me, that is until he left for basic training and has been rather stand-offish which I can understand and I can understand why she wouldn't prefer me to go but this was decided far before he left.
But what I'm having a problem with is this:
She refuses to tell me who he listed on his access list.
What his code is for the pass for the gate.
He told me before he left was putting down both his parents, I and someone else in his family for graduation. I have been through the process myself and told him and his family that only four people at best will be able to go. His mom didn't believe me because his dad is a retired chief and they believed the rules wouldn't apply to them, only civilians.
I kindly told her otherwise beforehand but she was shocked when it was true!
I'm doing my best to keep the peace and be civil as possible but this seems childish to me to withhold vital information like this.
What do you guys think? How can I be more understanding? Any moms or significant others experience this? I would love to hear from both sides if you ever encountered this frustration before.

Write your bf and ask him who is on the list and to get the code. The code is only needed if you are driving to the base, if you take a shuttle you don't need the code.

I had the same problem! Thankfully he stood up to his mom, put me first on his list, and sent me the pass code in the letter! Ask him for the information and communicate directly to him through a letter! Worked for me! Of course, I wrote him about it in a way that wouldn't stress him out while he was in Basic! :)

I'm so sorry your going through this and I agree make sure your in te list which I'm sure you are and ask for access code. I would just remember to try and not say it in a way that he worrys or racks his brain but you do wanna address it.

I'm in the same boat. I asked my boyfriend's mom for the code but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. I also wrote and asked my boyfriend for the code too. Hopefully i'll get it one way or another.

I know. I'm just not sure if the hotel I will be staying at as a shuttle. I have to ask them that when we go to book the hotel.

The "shuttles" for the most part are various taxi services. I think there is only a couple of hotels that actually have their own shuttle service.
That being said, you can arrange for a taxi yourself from your Hotel. :-)

Back when my husband was in boot camp, I thought I was going to go to his graduation...we even made plans for me to go. At this time I was his fiance and his mom didn't want me to go. In the end, I wasn't able to go because he didn't put me on the list because his mom said not too.
