So, early, early, EARLY Saturday morning, I got back from my fiance's graduation! It was an absolutely whirlwind of a week. Very emotional, very stressful, but also entirely wonderful. Basic training was probably one of the hardest experiences I've had so far in my young life, but the first hug with my sailor made it all worth it. He lifted me right up off my feet like a princess! Seeing the changes in him was amazing, but on the other hand, he's still the same guy that I know and will always love. I feel so blessed.

It didn't go so well with his mother. My sailor's focus was on me, primarily, and she was very jealous. It made parts of the trip very unpleasant, but what can you do? He regrets nothing, so I've decided not to either. We needed to reconnect, and that's what we did.

He's in Pensacola now, for A school, and it's already so much better! Being able to text makes such a difference, and hearing his voice at night when he calls makes it all the easier. It's nothing like basic training, which I knew, but it is all just very reassuring.

The great news is that he will be coming home for Christmas! He put in his leave paperwork today, and I'm hoping he'll be able to book his flights this week. Tomorrow, he's going to start on the marriage chit, and we're getting married December 23rd, when he's home! I am so excited and relieved and happy. I only have a month to plan, but it'll keep me nice and busy so he'll be here with me again before I know it! What is most exciting to me is that I won't have to fly to Pensacola for us to get married. This holiday stand down is pretty sweet! We'll be able to get married surrounded by our family. Definitely something to be thankful for.

I just wanted to post this to share my experience. This site was such a refuge for me throughout boot camp, and it's so beautiful on the other side! I know there will be many bumps ahead, but at least now I feel strong enough to get over them, with my sailor, and with the support of all you wonderful individuals on here. My fiance's division was based on unity, and I see that this is the Navy, because I see the same thing on these forums. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I hope now, that I have gone through basic training, I can help others as you all have helped me.

Awww how sweet:) That's great to hear, glad everything is working out for you.

Can you help me and let me know what you did after his graduation? like what was he able to do on liberty? please and thank you! I'm new at this and i know I'm really planning ahead but i need to get prepared(:

They can go like up to 50 miles (I think) away from the base, dont get caught going any further. He has to wear his uniform when out and about. They just need to be on their best behavior when out. My husband did not want to go out at all except to eat. We stayed at the hotel most of the time so he could stay out of his uniform.

are they able to show us the base? or do they have get right off?
