For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Navy Girlfriend new to this.
My boyfriend of 5 years left for basic last week. Iv written him letters everyday since he has been gone. We recieved his box. But no letters or post card yet. I love this site. Iv found out alot of helpful information and everyone is so helpful and caring. Everyone understands whats going on, where my friends just dont get it sometimes. Any other helpful tips or ideas that will help me get through this time?

Week 3/4 either of those weeks most get a
Phone call. I got one today but missed it.
I'm keeping myself busy and its going by
Faster now. Almost a month in now. =}
I kept busy by putting my son in pre-k. -

yeah when he called to let me know he arrived at bootcamp he said he would be able to call in 3 weeks. i would die if i missed the call! i dont have any kids, but i do have a dog that keeps me a little busy. :) thank you for the advice!

I received my first letter yesterday, it only took two weeks, Still a long time but i was expecting it to be another week! Kody, my boyfriend told me that he will call on the third sunday? So maybe expect a call then. :)

My boyfriend left like last week to and I have also written him every day but haven't heard anything back. When he called he said it would take 2 weeks but i am like dying to hear from him lol. I knew this was going to be hard, but not this hard. I wish i just knew how he is feeling. o well. how have you been keeping yourself busy? thats the hardest thing for me.

yeah its been super hard. iv been an emotional wreck. i got his box and iv gotten his ship and div & address so i can finally send all my letters. yesterday when i got off work and went to his house he was on the phone with his mom about something to do with his navy federal? anyway, my heart started racing i had no idea he would call. and neither did she. i got to hear his voice and say "hey babe" but when he said hey back, I LOST IT! ahh i just started boo hooing and had to walk away because i didnt want him to hear me cry! his family has been keeping me super busy tho. it helps. i stay at his house often too. i got to send my letters today. so its getting better and better every day. his PIR date is oct 12th!

omg you just sounded just like me lol!! i know im going to break down and cry as soon as he calls me. At least you got to hear his voice though. My boyfriends family have been super supportive too. Always telling me to come spend time with them and sleep in his room.. and they are always coming to visit since i live in a huge house all alone. ugh cant wait for classes to start monday. and thats crazy. my boyfriend PIR date is oct 15!! so we are basically like in the same boat lol. This is like the hardest thing ever, and it sucks more because none of my friends get what im going through.

nobody will understand it until they go through it themselves, luckily my boyfriends dad is an ex navy diver so he has been through the ropes and knows what all challenges we will face. my side of the family on the other hand dont really understand and there just like "its time to party" and im like uhm NO. i know i need to go out and not stay home all the time, but its just going to take time and its a huge adjustment.

Ok so nvm. I guess we do got the same pir date. Turns out his date is oct 12 to. And that's good that his fam is so supportive! My boyfriends dad was in the marines so he's makes fun of my bf all the time lol, but he still obviously gets the being separated part. And trust me, I haven't gone out either. I don't feel like partying or watching my friends try to talk to guys. At least college will keep me busier now.
