Marriage licenses expire, usually. How long is yours good for?

Do I understand correctly, you want a ceremony at home?  Not a courthouse wedding?

He cannot take leave during A school, so you will need to marry during the week he is home after school. There is no way to set a firm date until he gets into school, even then, that is flexible. What rating will he be?

The reason so many couples marry at the courthouse is if you wait until after A school, you will not be included on his orders to his first duty station.  This is not a huge problem unless he gets assigned overseas.  Sometimes you have to choose between the marriage or the wedding.

Lots to learn and lots to make decisions as a couple.

Well we did get married at the courthouse all I need to do is change my last name . We were advised by everyone including recruiters to marry before boot camp. His rating is AECF . Yes we both want to have a wedding ceremony at home . Yes there is so much decision making that it's stressful and we are both so young . We got engaged in December last year and been planning a wedding for May or April 2016 . I'm not even sure though if it might happen because like you said they don't get Leave in A school .
The Navy will influence when the date will be. First, you need to wait to see if he is given ET or FC, as each school is slightly different in length and hold time. He will be at Great Lakes for nearly a year before C school in real time. He will get a week between A and C, but that is a moving target. If he is in C school for Christmas, he gets another chance to take leave. A springtime wedding is unlikely, the Navy doesn't do spring break. Taking leave to get married is not a top priority. Sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear just now. Be patient, and keep all plans flexible. You can't do the traditional planning, but you can do something lovely eventually. Congrats and good luck.
Thank you so much Anti M ! This helps me a lot , it isn't what I wanted to hear but I do understand and will be patient . Thank you again! Blessings ! :)
Hey my husband and I are both 20 and have been together since we were 14 too! Haha that's awesome! But we got married before he left for bootcamp. You might have to wait to have a big ceremony until after his A school and just do a courthouse wedding one weekend before he's done with his school. Some friends of ours did that and it worked out great for them. But like Anti M said don't plan a big ceremony during A school, he will be too busy studying and he could have duty or multiple other obstacles could come up and ruin your ceremony. The most logical thing is if you want to get married now to do it courthouse style and have all the other fun stuff and big ceremony later. My husband and I didn't even have a honeymoon, we're having it this year on our 1 year anniversary :)
Hey that's awesome Haha ! We actually did get married at the courthouse but it was all fast and in the judge's room. It was just us two and my mom. I wish we could've gotten married before he left to boot but we didn't have enough money at the time . Yeah I figured, Looks like I'll just have to be patient and wait . Aww well at least y'all are having it now . Congratulations and happy anniversary! :)
