My boyfriend and I met in A School in 2012 but we did not start officially dating until June of last year. That's the same month I got out of the navy and moved back home to be with my family and further my education in Chicago. Now it has been 8 months of the best love I've ever experienced...we have made it work with Birthday visits and were blessed to spend Thanksiving, Christmas, New Year and I was able to visit a good week before he went on his deployment with the Bush. Just being able to be there for eachother has been a priority and despite the distance we have made it work. So the plan has always been for me to move with him once I finished my master's program around spring 2018. We were really hoping for VA orders since that is where he is stationed and where I was stationed when I served but he actually was just selected for orders in Lemoore,CA! So far away...we do not know anyone out there and our families are on the east coast or Midwest! I had cold feet about this move and thought about waiting for his next duty station to move but I'm more excited about not being long distance so I'm moving once I finish...Marriage is definitely in the plan but with him being on deployment now and transferring soon after he returns...timing is difficult to plan...communication has been heavily through FB messenger and emails and we just found out about the orders to Lemoore so we definitely have a lot to discuss. Anyone stationed in Lemoore? I've heard some negative and positive things but I'm definitely only interested in positive things unless the negatives are unavoidable. I don't need anyone to tell me about anything about what benefits I will not receive if I move out there without marriage...I am prior enlisted and an avid reader! I know a little bit about military life! Just never been married...so I guess this is more of an introduction! Plus I'm hunting for Lemoore residents!

We are stationed in lemoore! And we are originally from the east coast as well so I totally understand how you feel! It was honestly really hard for us to adjust the first few months because we are from a big busy city (an hour away from Times Square) so moving to the desert/farm area was horrible! But we've been here a year and a half and I wouldn't say we love it but we've definitely grown to enjoy it.. the good thing is you are a few hours away from everything so there is always something to do! We take weekend trips all the time I.e Yosemite and sequoia national parks, l.a., San Diego, Monterey, Malibu .. it all depends on what you make of it but u can def make it a great place to live! We grew up surrounded by the ocean so it sucks to be so far away from fresh water but it makes for a great day trip to the beach!
