My boyfriend left for the Navy on May 9th. Although we have been best friends for five years, and have always acted like a married couple, he finally decided to ask me to be his girlfriend the day before he left. Being my best friend, we did everything together. It got to a point where we wouldn't even ask to hang out. It was already assumed on both of our ends. The past two weeks have been so hard because not only do I not get to talk to him at all until he writes or potentially calls..... but none of my girl friends really understand or care to listen to my problems. His family has been a huge support through all of this as has mine. It would be awesome to meet some other girls that get what I'm going through!

Hang in there lady! Mine just left May 14th. It's hard but will be rewarding at the end. He's thinking of you and misses you. This is the beginning of an amazing journey!

Thank you, thank you! It's definitely rough but I know this is going to be such a good thing for him. I just can't wait to hear from him. I think it's the anxiety of not knowing how he is that's getting to me.

I'm going through the same thing. My boyfriend left Monday and it just tore me apart. Especially that first day that I didn't get the usual good morning text. It really hit me he wasn't coming home any time soon. But what helps is that I know he is doing something he's always wanted to do and he will come out stronger than before. We just have to be supportive and know that seeing him again will be one of the happiest moments ever.

The first week was definitely the hardest. I would constantly reach for my phone expecting that there would be a text. It definitely has gotten easier. Now I'm just anticipating the first letter/phone call. You are so right though. Not only will they come out stronger, but we will too. :) I can't wait to go to see him at graduation. Even if it's only that day.

I totally am going through the same thing!!! we will always wonder what he is doing and if he is okay; its our natural instinct. It really helps to just know that they are doing this to better themselves and their future. we are proud navy girlfriends! you can always message me if u have any questions or just want to chat!
