first thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. i've got to warn you all i have a sense of humor, so i think i'm taking most of this in stride. i have been moving around for a while before me and my fiance met, but that was with a job and company etc. currently she is in Virginia and i was wondering who else was in the area, especially anyone that's been here a while. i am staying up here and looking for work, housing, etc., i am trying to move up here and just reaching out for any help advice about the area etc. i can't think of any specific questions because i don't really know what to expect or ask. we have been talking more and more about marriage and i don't even really know what to expect or where to start with that, the housing and job thing are all on me because were not married and that's fine but normally when i would move in the past i had some friends in the area so i had more of a line on this kind of info here ive met some sailors but i don't know anyone. i can't think of anything else but i'm sure there is tons feel free to message me or whatever. and seriously if nothing else thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this, and welcome me before even if i don't show it cause i'm a big tuff soon to be house wife it means a lot

Welcome ryan! What area of VA are you in? Norfolk or VA beach?
What area? My family and I just moved to va beach. Into the college square townhouses. I love them!

I live in Hampton its north of norfolk just through the tunnel. :) Is your sailor already with a command up here? As far as jobs the market can be hard. There are wayyy too many people living here but I know a lot of people that have gotten jobs quickly what type of jobs are you looking for? I know where I live the city has their own website with jobs, there is usajobs, indeed, monster, and a few others I say just start applying for any you are interested in. As far as housing you might ask your sailor to ask around and see what housing are military friendly. In addition, it will also depend on where you want to live in the area. your sailor can also get a list of apartments that accept the rental partnership program. While you cant use it for yourself it would be a good list of apts that already work easily with military and probably have a good percent of military tenants.
