My then fiance now husband and  I were married during his A-school. He has shipboard ops then he can get orders, which is nerve wracking because the wait seems so long.

He has turned in his page 2 update paperwork, does that enroll me in DEERS? or do I have to be enrolled into that another way? He seems to have been informed that the page 2 does not enroll me in DEERS.

What does the Page 2 do? Get our BAH started or what?

I am planning on visiting him again sometime in May but that's only to bring the baby over. It'd be to late to get any of that done if he is getting orders by then. How can he enroll me into DEERS?

Oooh I skimmed over the baby info, well for those of you who remember i joined this site shortly after my then fiance left for boot camp. A few weeks later found out about an unplanned pregnancy, got to welcome the new love of my life into the  world last week. We're happy Ezra is  here safely and healthy:)

Usually the DEERS and the page two are done at the same time.  Page two is the official "list:" of his dependents.  Do you have an ID card yet?  If so, you're enrolled in DEERS.

You can verify you are in DEERS with the following contact information:

http://www.tricare.mil/DEERS

He needs to add the baby soon!  The baby will only be covered for the next 60 days.   If the birth was covered by Tricare, you're in DEERS.

So you are saying that his page 2 does automatically enroll me into DEERS?

Also if I am not enrolled in DEERS in time does that mean I won't be on his orders when he gets them?

It usually does... but he needs to make sure.  If you are not enrolled it could mess up a lot of things such as BAH and yes, his orders.  There is a form to fill out to let his detailer know he's married.  He needs to let his chief/LPO/COC know he needs time to take care of his dependents' business.  Don't let this slide.

Oh okay. Thank you

I don't have an ID card. N.A.S was closed the Tuesday I was there when we got married. I left the following Wednesday so we had no time.  I already had health insurance so that covered the birth.

Congratulations!!!! I am so happy to hear that you and Ezra are both healthy and happy! Congratulations on your marriage as well! What an exciting time for you!

Thank you!!
