Hello Everyone! I am brand new to the group as my husband was just accepted to OCS and an NFO candidate! We are so excited and can't wait for this next chapter in our lives. However I have some questions that I can't seem to get a straight answer on and I was hoping you gals would be able to help me.
First, Some people have told me that he will get a paycheck and BAH at an E-5 rate while he is on OCS, does anyone know if this is the case? I assumed he would not get officer pay until he actually commissioned but I wasn't sure at which rank he will get paid.
Second, Do I go to Rhode Island with him for the first day of OCS? I have read all these different accounts about civilians going straight to OCS and that spouses have to go so they can get on their DEERS? Seems like something his recruiter could add me too before he leaves?
Finally (for now), Does he get time off between OCS and flight school in Pensacola to move me down there? I know the Navy moves all of our stuff, just wondering if he will be able to drive with me, from Northern CA, or if I should prepare myself to make the trek alone. I am fine with it either way I just want like to be prepared lol. Actually to hit on the final question sort of, we will have stuff in storage and at my parents house (I am staying with them while he is in OCS) Will the Navy move from 2 locations in different states?
Thanks so much for any help/advice/guidance you guys can offer. I know we are in for a huge change and I just want to be as prepared and informed as I can be...

I can give you the few answers I know. Yes, they get BAH and are paid, but I am not certain if it is E-5 or E-6 (I heard E-6 lately, but the source was no way official).
The recruiter cannot enroll you in DEERS, but should have a list of what paperwork your husband needs to take with him to enroll you. Should be birth certificate, marriage certificate, and SSN, certified true copies.
He may be able to take leave to move you. I don't know for sure, but the enlisted get a week or so after A school, so it may be true of the officer training pipeline also.
No, the Navy will not move you from two locations. They will quite likely only authorize a move from where his Home of Record is. Look through the discussion in the comment section below, you can see the struggle a wife is having with her move.
Good luck! As you find answers, please post them so it will help anyone else who may have the same questions.
