It's been about a week since my Sailor left for Boot Camp.

There really aren't words to describe how everything feels right now. Some days I feel strong, and sort of happy. Other days, I still want to curl up by myself and cry. From what I've heard from his family, we still haven't gotten a phone call.

It's really hard to believe it's only been a week. Two more to go before I can start sending my letters. I just wish time would go by a bit faster.

Finding things to keep myself occupied is a struggle sometimes - though I have found it to be slightly easier with keeping myself active and getting a job. Talking to someone who's going through the same thing has been helping out a lot, as well.

Not sure exactly what I'm posting this for.. just an update I guess.

Faith, definitely stay busy. It helps! You will have good days and bad days but hang in there!
You can start writing him as soon as you get an address. Definitely dont wait two weeks because letters are sooo important to him. I called my husbands recruiter after a week and he gave me his address. I cannot stress enough: WRITE EVERY DAY!! It helps him so much and you may find that it helps you too! It did for me! I hope this helps!

I'm hangin' in there as best I can! I've been writing at least two letters a day, and keeping them all dated. I'm really looking forward to sending them off!

Thank you, it did help. :)

Hey, Faith! I can completely relate to how you are feeling. My boyfriend left on June 25 and it was the worst feeling imaginable! I cried everyday for almost 2 weeks, and I still find myself crying randomly. However, I feel a lot better than I did 3 weeks ago! It gets better, but it's still going to be hard.

Just so you know, I still haven't received a call either...so don't expect one in the next week or two. He told me when he got to boot camp he would call in two weeks, but that's really something they say to reassure the other person. But it will happen, you just have to be patient.

Sending letters are amazing!! I started writing my boyfriend before his mom gave me his address, that way I had letters to send out the day I got it. I got a letter from him on Saturday saying he got my first letter, and it was such an incredible feeling knowing he's getting them. Once you get his address and y'all start writing, it will make things so much better, I promise.

If you ever want to talk, I'm always here! If you want to know how I felt read my post I made a few weeks ago, I was such a wreck!! Just keep writing, it will help clear your mind and knowing it will get to your man will make everything better!

I have been crying at least once every day! But, it is easier than when I first said goodbye to him. It's just so strange, not being able to talk to him right now.

It would be nice to hear his voice, but.. as long as I at least get a letter while he's gone, that would really make things better. Just knowing how he's doing and all, and just getting a response. I'm really looking forward to it. I have so many written already, I'm so eager to send them!

Thank you, for the support and advice! It's really greatly appreciated! I'm here for you, as well. :)

Yeah, it sucks not being able to talk to our men everyday! There hasn't been a day in almost 2 years when I haven't talked to him...so it's still pretty foreign to me. However, even though the whole distance thing sucks, you learn to appreciate him even more than before. In one of the letters I wrote my boyfriend I told him that I never realized how much I truly loved him till he was away from me. You start to realize how much he means to you, and I'm sure you'll know what I mean once you get a letter.

Oh and be careful when sending letters...like, sending too many letters in one envelope. Some of mine were pretty thick, so I had to put two stamps on them. If you don't then you could possibly get the letter returned back to you, so just make sure to only have a few pages in each envelope.

I just got done writing a letter, so I get to send another one out in the morning :) I hope you get the address soon so you can start mailing him!! It shouldn't be too much longer till you find out!

I definitely know what you mean by foreign feeling. We would talk all day, every day..and I'd always get a phone call before I went to bed. Then all of a sudden it's gone.. But I do agree, since he's been gone I've really come to realize how much he means to me and how much I love him. I can only imagine that feeling will be magnified when I get my first letter.

I'll be sure to keep an eye on how many I put in one envelope!

Thank you!! :)

Yeah, my boyfriend would send me a "Good morning hun" text EVERY morning. Even when we were on a break (school was taking up so much of my time that we took a little break), he would do it, so I know this man is a keeper <3 And trust me, that first letter you receive you will read over and over and over! Haha, I've read all my letters numerous times, and the most recent one I've gotten I've read the most (it was the one telling me he finally got a letter from me and how incredibly happy he was!) It was the sweetest one, so I always read it when I feel down. Keep me updated and let me know when you get his address!!

I know exactly how that is, mine would send me "Goodmorning beautiful" every day. Texting all day all night. No matter what was going on, he'd always talk to me, always call me. I wouldn't give him up for anything, or anyone.

I'm sooo excited to recieve my first letter! I miss him so much. I'm going to keep every single one that I get.

I will keep you updated! :)

Keep your head up girl! What a small world that both our men would go off to bootcamp on the same day and we'd meet! Talking to you has really helped, more then you could possibly know. We're going through the same thing at the same time, it's nice to know I'm not alone in this!

I really have to agree! Talking to you has really made it a lot better, having someone to go through this with is comforting. It's a foreign feeling to me, to miss someone so much and feel like a big part of my life has just been torn away from me for so long. But, whenever I talk to you it seems like we feel about the same each day. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one, and that I can talk to someone who really understands how I feel.

Thank you for being my buddy!! :)

My boyfriend hasn't left yet....his date to be sent off to bootcamp is Sept 12th and I'm dreading it insanely bad....we've been together for 2 years, and have talked every day since, plus we live together. I'm getting a slight idea of how to handle things once he leaves by reading all your posts...but I'm still very fearful...are your boyfriends in active duty navy, or reserve? just curious....I really will need some friends to chat with once he leaves...because although I have a great support system with my family, friends are few and far and it's just been him and I everyday.....I need to connect with someone who's going through the same thing...my boyfriend will be gone for 6 months...bootcamp and A school combined...afterwards he'll be back, since he only joined the reserves....but those 6 months seem like they'll be an eternity to me! :(

Hey girl! My boyfriend has been gone since June 25, so I know how hard it will be. We've also been together for about 2 years and we would talk EVERY day. However, we never lived together. He told me he was going for the reserves, but he was still contemplating going active (I hope not!!!) If he changed his mind, I would go absolutely crazy. But yeah, he told me he would be gone for about 6 months too. My man graduates on August 17, and so it's only a month away! Time really has flown by since he left, which a lot of girls told me up here. I didn't believe it would happen because all I could think about was day to day heartache of him being gone. It's a lot easier now because we are sending each other letters, which helps soo much!! I'm always here if you want to talk or if you have any questions!!
