Okay chit is done and over with, trip planned. Fiance before becoming wives on that day did you meet your Sailor on base? Were you allowed on base as long as you were there to go to the court house with him? I need someone who has gone through this to tell me what it was like. Anyone who was in Fl resident with a 3 day waiting period as well would be great. Did anyone have a Chaplin on base perform the ceremony?

I apologize for an. Misspellings or mistakes, I am on a cell and kind of anxious.
Thanks

You are not allowed on the base unless the Sailor escorts you on the base as you do not have a Military ID Card.

Also to use the base Chaplin, he (the Sailor) needs to to talk to the Chaplin and see what other requirement they require.  Normally they require both of you to be members of the church, and also take a certain number of classes with them before they would marry you.

Thanks

When I went to Pensacola we had no issues getting on. (corry station might be different) but Pensacola was an open base last time I checked. My cousin drove on with no problems. All we had to do was show our IDs, they can ask for registration, insruance etc so be prepared. I drove on base every day for a week before I had my Mil ID. Again that was at Pcola not Corry Station. If they have changed it then yea you might have issues. Have him ask what the rules are there and how he can get it taken care of. (Until yall are married he is going to have to do most of the leg work honestly! I know my husband tried to push stuff off on me but you cant do certain things no matter what)

My husband's LPO let him leave the first day with me even though we werent married yet. As far as the three day wait I didnt have to deal with that. Call the courthouse, I heard they waive it for active duty but idk. But if not you will have to go in, fill out the paperwork, and go back three days later to have the ceremony done (if you do it there.)

Thanks for the info!

you are welcome! best of luck to you!

Hi! I was just there this past weekend to get married but that was at NAS. Me and my husband are both FL residents so what we did was do an online pre marital course to waive the 3 day waiting period. It was very helpful and we learned a lot and it was only $30 for it. I suggest doing that if you have 4 hours to spare but you don't have to do it all at once. Me and my mom did not have a problem getting on base we just needed our drive licenses and we picked my husband up right there on base. We also did not get married on base we went to the local court house and did it all(: Sorry if I'm not much help! Good luck! and Best wishes to you and your Sailor<3

What website did you do your course with? May I have the web address?

Here is what to google, sorry my iPad wont let me copy the URL

And once you are there it should be the first option on google and then once you get to the page, on the left hand side choose the option pre-marital course and that is where you will read what you will need(: I hope that helps!
Awesome, I actually found this a while back myself wasn't sure if P-cola would accept it but thank you.

Also did they accept the print out of the certificate she sent you just fine or did they want an original cert? We took the opportunity of this 3 day weekend to actually get it done:)

The accepted the print out(:

Awesome we Just completed the whole course and the quiz. it was amazing, We had so many insights to different things. I loved the values list and the "space between us" section.
